Complaint Review: Xtreme Chemical Company - Plano Texas

I was a former employee of this company. They travel all over the country while at the same time recruiting young people to join their "fun-filled blue jean traveling experience". Yeah what a sham. I was recruited in the Midwest. I stayed with the company for only several weeks; maybe a month give or take a few days. Every new person was kind of assigned a "mentor", just a man or woman who had been with the team for a while that could show them the ropes. One pretty much had to have no real experience or education. You could show up without them needing any background history of criminal convictions or even a drug test. They didn't need to know anything about you. For all a potential customer would know, you could have a felon on your door step trying to get a foot-hold in your house. Just the thought I was once a part of this operation was and still is unbelievable. Not saying a felon couldn't turn over a new leaf, but that is obviously not the issue here. The salesman, depending on what their character was personally, mix their own bottles earlier in the morning, so the dilutions of the concentrate varied from person to person. Though it is understandable that some would want to guarantee their product, they would use a stronger solution during their demonstrations. Opinions of the product will vary from person to person of course. It wouldn't hurt to use a stronger solution for the various things one would use Xtreme Kleen for, seeing as it is non toxic and contains no harmful or corrosive acids. The thing that got me the most during my work is that the product wasn't all it was cracked up to be. I was always trying to do things by the book and always used the proper solution for the demonstration I was going to use, for I usually used the same demonstration for every home. It didn't really work all that well with my proper solution. So I would have to cover my tracks and say something along the lines of "You need a different ratio of water to concentrate for this particular stain" and whatnot. Another thing that set me off is this: They don't have legal permits to even sell in your neighborhoods; they only operate with receipts. Whether the receipts are legit or not I cannot answer. I only realized this when I was stopped by police and they asked to see my permit. I shown them what I thought was the permit itself, when they informed me that the paper I had wasn't a permit, but only a receipt of a purchased permit. Apparently permits have photo i.d. and names and addresses on them. Apparently the company didn't want people knowing who they were dealing with, or what their names were. The police made me dump out my materials and said if they caught me selling anywhere ever again, that I would go to jail. When I told my boss about this, I got a tongue lashing because I apparently wasn't supposed to show anyone that receipt that I was supposed to lie and say I forgot it or must have dropped it. It was totally ridiculous and I knew from that point that there was some elements of the company that were not legal. That is when I said I wanted a bus ticket home. I was done. So when you want to bust these guys in the act, ask them to see their permits. If they cannot provide one, send them on their way.

I purchased a gallon of Xtreme Kleen after a door-to-door sales demonstration. The sales person opened my purchased bottle, mixed the solution and completed the clean-up he had began with his bottle of solution. The one that I purchased and the one that he had demonstrated from worked the same: Very well.

Don't buy anthing from anyone who comes to your door. People have been coming to my shop for 14 years trying to get me to buy their miracle cleaners. Dozen of different companies, but they're all the same. One miracle cleaner will do everything and take the place of all others. It will clean the carpet, clean the glass, shine the woodwork. They get down and scrub the hell out of a spot on the carpet, then I have one little bright spot. Then last but not least, it's so healthy you can drink. I usually get them a cup and put it on the counter and tell them to knock themselves out. One of those products stinks to hell of oranges. I can always tell when someone got suckered, cause their place smells like an orange grove and my eyes start to water.

As Michelle so respectfully put it, the cleaning kit is provided to aid the cleaner in doing it's job. Would you scrub a pot full of burnt on grime with a sponge? No, you would use a scouring pad. And if you used a sponge instead of a scouring pad, does that mean your dish soap sucks? Who sweeps their floor with a mop and not a broom? The product works. Either the demonstration wasn't explained properly or you weren't paying your full attention while the salesperson was demonstrating. I have experienced that both can happen, sometimes at the same time.

Please have the sales person mix the solution before leaving. Also have them explain to you the proper way to clean what items you are concerned about. There are many different ways to clean and different types of pads or cloths that can be used to aid in cleaning. We offer a free kit that comes with some of these pads and brushes that will help. However, it is important to not use the scotch brite pads on certain surfaces. We do offer a solution to any dissatisfied customer. On the back of the sales receipt there is a Notice of Cancellation that can be sent in within three days and a full refund will be given.
