Amy, the dentist, was on my insurance website. I went in for a cleaning and ended up with $16,811.52 in charges; I believe many are fraudulent charges. Amy has 25 one-star reviews on Yelp, and I alledge she is a scammer and the below. According to my insurance company, the maximum allowable charge for the services she submitted is $2,569.83 (I have this in writing from the insurance company); thus, she owes me a refund of $8,309.57. I have this in writing from my insurance co. Over the phone, she quoted me $1,300 for a crown but charged me $2,985 per crown. I am not sure I needed the crowns. Before I came in for the crowns, I asked for a pre-determination to get a full, accurate quote. They said they would get me one. It never came, so when I called back, they said I had to come in to get it. At the 4/12/24 appointment, I asked for the determination/quote, was told they were preparing it, and then escorted me to the dental chair. After multiple Novocain injections, the dentist appeared at the chair side with an illegible handwritten paper of charges. She allowed me to see it for a second and did not give it to me to take home. She then said she needed payment in order to continue working on me.

She said she had payment issues with other patients and needed payment upfront. In a vulnerable state due to the Novocain and my fear of dental drilling, and with her insistence that I was in dire need of this work, I gave her my credit card (while still in the dental chair) Nabi charged me $7,140.00 that day, $6,140.00 on my regular credit card, and $1,000.00 on my FSA card. According to the insurance, I should owe only $185.32. This represents an overcharge of $6,954.68. A dentist has never asked me to pay for services in full upfront. I gave this dentist my credit card, assuming that she was honest and trustworthy as a medical professional. She is not. She lied to the credit card company as well. Everything is well documented, including call logs.  She also broke penal code 632. One reviewer, not me, wrote on yelp " I can't believe someone would drill into a kids teeth who didn't even need".  I have a lot more evidence and I mean a lot.
