ASURION refused to honor EXTENDED WARRANTY, paid for at time of purchase for NEW LG 55 INCH TELEVISION...Claiming warranty was running concurrently with manufacturer warranty for first year, I was told at Walmart (And every extended warranty I have purchased has been) the EXTENDED warranty starts AFTER manufacturer warranty expires... Manufacturer warranty is 1 year, EXTENDED warranty is for 3 years, which puts expiration on Jan 13th 2021, so still valid...

Best Buy doesn't sell extended warranties, they sell protection plans. And they make it very clear that it runs concurrently with the manufacturer warranty. So I think this is more of a case of you making assumptions about what you are buying, rather than reading the actual terms of the plan. It makes sense to me that a 5 year protection plan will cover your product for 5 years, not 6 years. Especially when it covers things that the regular manufacturer warranty doesn't.
