AT&T Roxanne Isley Scammed on adding a new line to my account Joplin Missouri
I don't usually post this kind of thing, but this has me a little livid and I think this needs to be shared.
I called in to ask some questions about my bill since I didn't understand some of the new charges. I spent some time with the rep who I was talking to and they did an okay job of explaining it I think. We were talking a little bit about my company and they were asking me questions, and towards the end they were talking about a promo they had if I added another line for a backup.
They told me if I bundled fiber internet and the new line they'd be able to get me a really good deal and I'd see some extra credits in my bill in a couple months that would make it nearly free. I was kind of skeptical, and they told me their manager Roxanne was listening in and she'd be happy to back it up.
Roxanne asked me what it would take to get me to sign up today (very high-pressure sales). She eventually told me she could give me a free cell phone, and they had some extra ones in their office that she could send over to me. So I gave her my address, but I never received a phone. I called to follow up a few times over the next month or two but the reps didn't see it in their notes. I got her last name from one of them, so they told me to send her an email.
I've sent her a few emails but haven't gotten a reply from her. We had to take our internet offline to make the switchover here, and it's actually more expensive than what I had before, so I can't just cancel the fiber internet and move back to my earlier provider. I rely on our internet and can't just take it offline again.
This is very under-handed in my opinion and I don't know if AT&T is aware that their people are making false promises like this and not following through with them so I'm posting here about it.
