I purchased a vehicle on January 29, 2024, I had provided a trade in of a FORD 2007 and a payment in full $4,120.00 in exchange for MAZDA CX-7 2011. I was provided TEMP TAGs with an expiration date of February 25, 2024. When providing the title for the FORD FOCUS 2007, I was informed that if a replacement tag was necessary I would be provided one on January 30, 2024 at approximately 5:45pm. But that I could back to the dealership during the week, and they will be able to call DMV to get approval for this. In the meantime, I also raised the question regarding the TITLE of the vehicle. They informed the paperwork has been processed. I asked for an additional update on Thursday February 29, 2024, and the representative stated they could not provide another temp tag. I called the car dealership and they told me they are not open until 10AM, and I couldn't speak to anyone. I asked about returning the vehicle, I was ignored, I make the decision to call the NJMVC and I am informed they do not see on their end any paperwork related to the VIN of said vehicle, they do not see anything submitted on behalf of the dealership. I was informed the vehicle belongs to someone else. At that moment, I decided to inquire with the NJ Police Department in East Windsor to file a police report whom also ran the VIN # and did not find it registered to me but another person with an active registration.
