DON’T EVER EVER TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Just check google reviews and no cowboys as he is a known scammer and crook.
Complaint regarding Geddes Automotive Limited
Peter Geddes
In July 2024, I Drove my Vechicle into Geddes Automotive workshop for some scheduled maintenance
It shouldn’t have been any more than about $2000.
Peter said to me it was only being worked on every few weeks” and I thought that’s why it was taking so long.
I also thought that it would be even cheaper than my expectations given how reasonable I had been over the 3 months.
A qualified professional should have taken no more than a day or 2 to do these jobs.
4 times I tried to get a price or update and peter couldn’t give me any indication of how much.
On November Peter then tried to get me to pay a progress payment
When I said, “no way I’m coming to pay and get my car”, peter then sent me a bill for almost triple what it should have been and he needed a week to put car back together and it could then be towed as it was undrivable and unassembled
The same day he said that I saw it being driven in and out of his shop being moved!!!!!!
I do not believe anything peter says as it was running fine when i drove it in and he has not completed the job and tried to charge even more....
My biggest mistake was taking it to Geddes
Peter tries to overcharge you and then tries to muck you around and then tries to keep your car for fictious excessive bills.
I have reported him to the police and they are well aware of Geddes, and they are investigating further given the level of complaints about this con-person.
Next stop, the commerce commission, the companies office, and the Serious fraud office.
This scammer needs to be locked up and out of business.
