"Failure to Restore and Reconnect Property's Electric Power Cut due to Wildfire"   Nov 09, 2024

November 9, 2024 ISSUE: Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) failure to provide electric power. I have followed each requirement to obtain Pacific Gas and Electrics (PG&E) restoration and reconnection of my property's 200-AMP Permanent Underground Electric power, cut by PG&E due to wildfire. To date, PG&E is refusing to restore its infrastructure and reconnect my property's power without cause. I purchased the property in January 2024 and applied for the property's electric power restoration and reconnection in March 2024. Since March 2024 PG&E has claimed 10 invalid excuses for this restoration and reconnection of electric power request. I am a senior citizen and am concerned about my health due to the lack of heat in my home. Energy, water, broadband, and other utilities are basic needs for survival and good health. It is best if this PG&E project is completed before the freezing weather arrives at the end of November 2024. Sequential list of PG&E Excuses and then the Proof of invalidity: 1) PG&E said we applied for a new service in January 2024. -We proved that we applied to have PG&E restore their infrastructure cut due to wildfire and reconnect to the property's updated Electrical infrastructure. 2) PG&E stated at the on-site meeting representative stated: You must remove this new electrical panel and structure installed by a licensed electrician and permitted by your County building department. It is PG&E that provides instructions on the requirements for the property's electrical infrastructure. -We proved the property's governing authority on the electrical requirements belongs to the County we live in and not PG&E. PG&E is only to verify with the governing entity that building codes were followed. 3) PG&E stated they would only offer the property owners 50-AMP temporary power as a new service with a different infrastructure that was in place before the wildfire. -We proved the application is for the restoration and reconnection of the 200-AMP Permanent Underground Electric Service. 4) PG&E said since we were not the property owners when the wildfire occurred we do not qualify for the restoration and reconnection. -We proved that nowhere within the Rules & Tariffs is a new property owner disallowed from the reconnection. Also proved power service belongs to the property, not the property owner. 5) PG&E then stated: The property has never had electric service provided by PG&E, therefore you must apply for new service. -We then proved through PG&E documentation that the property still has assigned electric service, including a meter # and assigned Pole with the Transformer. 6) Note: In April 2024 PG&E representative Dan Huffman informed me via a transcribed telephone call that the property's electric power would be restored by PG&E and reconnected no later than October 2024 and that he, Dan Huffman, would now be my contact for the project replacing the original representative Nick King. 7) PG&E stated You had a telephone call with Latisha in June 2024 when you agreed that you do not qualify for the restoration and reconnection. -We then proved this was a voicemail message that PG&E left us stating they would not honor our restoration and reconnection application. 8) PG&E then stated: The property had overhead electric service before it was cut due to fire and you are requesting underground electric service. This puts you requesting new service, not a restoration and reconnection. -We then proved the property and our entire rural neighborhood of 5 properties all have underground electric service. 9) PG&E then stated: The property had a structure fire burning the mobile home and it was not a wildfire so you do not qualify for the restoration and reconnection of the electric power. -We proved the 7.5-acre rural property experienced a wildfire as described by the Federal and State governments. 10) PG&E then stated: You purchased raw land without any utilities. -We then proved that the property was purchased with Public Water, Septic, and Assigned Electric Power. 11) PG&E then stated: A wildfire must be identified as a disaster by the State Governor or the President of the United States to qualify for the property's power to be restored and reconnected. -We then proved this excuse untrue just as we proved all of the prior 9 excuses by PG&E were untrue and invalid. I am concerned as to why PG&E is refusing to follow its requirements to restore and reconnect my property's electric power without cause. Respectfully, Mary Ann Schell
