Isabel Casas Casa Alegre Apartments Think twice before renting from Pompano Beach FL
The good news: Isabel Casas by and large keeps the building in very good shape. I love the security cameras all around. She is concerned with the safety of her tenants, and that’s appreciated. My kid and I were in a bind, having come from a living situation where the landlord was not protecting us from a violent tenant. Isabel approved our application even though our former landlord wouldn’t return her calls, and I will always appreciate that.
The bad news: she will raise the rent on a whim. Our rent went up by 25% in 3 years.
She will refuse to fix small things and then charge them against your deposit. I complained repeatedly about light switches that didn’t work right; she shrugged it off and said it was no big deal, then took it out of my deposit.
She will out and out lie to keep back money from your deposit - for example she said that we left our apartment dirty; I cleaned it with my own hands and have videos to prove that it was clean when we left.
She is extremely litigious and will not hesitate to put a threat of eviction on your door for the least thing, rather than just talking to you like a human being. She has long-standing feuds with neighbors and is very unpopular among homeowners in the neighborhood for her unneighborly behavior.
Living there is stressful due to her prickly and reactive nature. Just look at her Isabel’s responses to these reviews- she can’t stand criticism.
If you have a thick skin and don’t mind losing your deposit, go for it. Otherwise, look elsewhere
