Complaint Review: Jon Ver Halen - Dallas TX

I had a horrible experience I had with this doctor. I felt like he was very rude and condescending in demeanor which was very much uncalled for and even if I was being a difficult patient he should have the sense enough to act professional rather than lose his temper with his patients. I gave him no reason at all to be this way with me as I very careful the way I worded it so not to offend him. He bit back at me immediately and shut me down so I didn't feel like I could discuss any more of my concerns with him. I would give 0 stars but the only reason I am giving 2 stars is bc Dana and the other nurse assistant(I believe it was his wife?) all but made up for his crappiness.... and I believe I should at least give them some credit. I am however planning to report him to the medical board for multiple violations. I was planning to wait until I can see my end results at least and have my follow up. I think I will find another dr bc I have a feeling I am going to end up needing revision surgery after the job he did on me and his change in attitude post op is enough for me to run the other way. He has not offered to do revision on me and even if he did at this point I would not choose to go through with any procedure under his care again.

I called the office after my surgery because I was concerned about infection at incision sites and was finally able to get through and get dr Ver Halen on the line and he just seemed annoyed that I was calling concerned about my results from the work he did on me. Like it was not his problem anymore. I was also calling because I was freaking out after I took my bandages off and saw how my stomach looked very uneven with dents and they do not seem to be getting any better.. I wanted to ask him about the infection first bc I figured that was the more important of the two and he was very short with me and ended the conversation before I had a chance to ask about anything else. He had another case waiting... didn't want want to hear anymore what I had to say. I posted a review on realself describing my experience with this doctor after my surgery and at the time it was not negative but it was not positive. I had already paid for my next surgery which included revision of the botched job he did on my liposuction of my abdomen and was informed that dr Ver Halen refused to treat me anymore as a patient. I asked about getting my money back and they asked me to sign something saying I would not write any bad reviews and I had to do this in order to get my money back. I was not able to remove the review I had posted on real self and I had asked an attorney who informed me that I should not have to do this in order to get my money back. I never did get my $1700 back for treatment that I never recieved. He already got paid so to hell with me if I'm not happy. I think he may be leaving the practice he Is in now what I gathered from bits and pieces of conversations I picked up in the office while I was fading in and out. So that makes sense....

to anyone considering any type of cosmetic procedure I suggest you steer clear of mr Ver halen(he doesn't deserve the title dr) he does not care about his patients and the aftercare they recieve. He only cares about $$$$ he gets from them and even worse than lack of proper bedside manner is the tough s**t attitude that he has when he's done and paid if you are not happy with his work. I will be filing a complaint against dr Ver Halen to the medical board for many violations. Stay away from this dr! There are plenty of good reputable surgeons out there.
