Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I joined South University in 2011. I was going to major in and earn a Bachelor's in Psychology. I told the admissions person my goal was to ultimately counsel people addicted to drugs and women who had been abused. I was told that due to the fact I was disabled, grants would pretty much cover my tuition and I could receive my diploma within 5 years at most. They waived my application fee, in an attempt to make it easier for me to join, promised to find me a job once I graduated, and told me what little bit I would owe would not have to be paid until I graduated and found a job.

Once I joined I did quit at one point, to go to another school, but I ultimately returned to South University and continued working toward my diploma. However, every time I would call my guidance counselor, they would fail to tell me how much more time it would take for me to graduate. I could never get a definitive answer. Also, I was never given any documents that told me exactly how much I currently owed or where I could go to find that information.

It wasn't until 2018, when they sent me a stimulus check, and had failed to pay the department of education that I became curious and nosed around to figure out how much I actually owed. Especially since they had sent me the stimulus and was now telling me I owed over 8000,00!!! I almost fell out of my chair and had a heart attack when I learned that I owed over 106,000!!!! Let me repeat that, ONE HUNDRED AND SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS.

As someone who is disabled and lives on a fixed income, I was going to be homeless. My payments would be close to 300.00 a month and it would take me the rest of my life to pay in back. I immediately called the school and quit. If I was going to owe that much, I was going to make sure they didn't earn another dime off of me, and let me also mention they lied about the fact that I wouldn't have to make a payment until I had a job and graduated. I was constantly hounded and had to pay monthly.

I've also found out they misled me on my ability to graduate and be able to be a counselor. You cannot counsel people with a Bachelor's in Psychology. Not in my state. Now I've found out they have lost their accredidation and are being sued for fraud. If there is any way, I will sue them too. They are lying to people. I could have gone to a proper college and earned a Masters in something for 100,000!!! Don't be suckered in to these people and their lies. If there is a lawyer out there who is willing to help me, please contact me immediately.

One last thing, in one class, the professor told me I was too focused on earning an A, so she gave me a B. I didn't even know they could do that. I contacted my guidance counselor and complained. I would think someone really working hard to make an A is a good thing. My professor didn't think so, but my complaint changed her way of thinking. This school is garbage, in my opinion. They are ruining people's lives, also in my opinion.
