Tri-Star Alternator and starter service Repairs were bad, threw away my parts under warranty, over charged for service, kept truck 11 days for 5 hours labor Sulphur Springs Texas
I called ahead and made an appointment with owner, Phillip to take my 2000 Toyota Tundra truck in for repairs the last week of November 2023. They kept my truck for 9 days. They never called me to update me on the repairs. I had to continuosly call them every other day to find out WHY it was taking so long. Turns out they only have ONE mechanic working there. (RED FLAG #1) Had I known this, I would have never taken any of my vehicles there.
I bought my own parts because they charge a whopping 71% PRICE INCREASE (RED FLAG #2)on the top of the original price from the parts store. They replaced all 3 of my Moog brand U Joints and center support bearing, both having LIFETIME WARRANTIES. They THREW AWAY the old Moog U Joints in the garbage (RED FLAG #3) which were under warranty - so that I cannot get my money back, and now I have lost $95.
At my request, they drained all my brake fluid and replaced it with new fluid which I had bought. On my way home I realized that they DID NOT bleed the brakes to remove all the air (RED FLAG #4) because my brake pedal went all the way to the floor, which could have caused a wreck or loss of life. Obviously they DID NOT test drive the truck, otherwise they would have known this. I was very angry at the shoddy and horrible service they provided. My son came over and together we bled the brakes to make it right.
I called AGAIN to ask when my truck would be ready, and they said it was done - so why didn't they call me to let me know (RED FLAG #5) ??????? Phillip had not prepared the invoice until I got there so I had to wait for him to decide how many hours to charge me. They charged me 5 hours labor at $100 per hour labor - I was totally speechless, The normal labor rate in Sulphur Springs is $65 - $75 hour. (RED FLAD #6)
I WILL NOT EVER go back to Tri-Star nor will I ever recommend this company. 12/22/2023
