1 Hour Photo Studio return ripoff
I bought a camera bag from this store as a gift and tried to return it 25 days later since it was too small. The bag was untouched and still had the tags attached, but the manager told me that he could not take it back because it was against their policy. Their "policy" is not on the receipt but is posted on a small sign in a corner and reads "No Cash Refunds", and had NOT been pointed out at the time of sale. I argued that I had paid with credit card anyway, and would even be happy with a store credit rather than a refund. The manager went back and forth on how he would handle this, repeatedly telling me I had used the bag and that I was trying to cheat him by trying to return it now. When I got frustrated with this strange treatment, he got very unfriendly and told me he did not have to help me because I was "uncooperative." To make things worse, the bag had been marked down when I bought it but the same one was being sold for full price when I returned it - they were probably trying to get rid of the bag so they didn't want it back!
Worst of all though is that the return policy of "No Cash Refund" is 1) not well advertised and 2) misleadingly stated (even if I'd seen it at purchase I would have assumed I could get credit on my card or store credit). The real kicker is then being insulted by the manager to boot!
