2-10 Home Buyers Warranty Fraud - Ripoff - Buyer Beware!!! Aurora Colorado
The electric water heater in basement will not control the tempature and it heats the water until ithe circuit breaker shuts it down. I called 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty and 2 men from a local plumbing company came out.
I intalled a webcam in the basement after doing some research on the Colorado BBB website, due to problems I had with the warranty earlier this year. The plumbers stood by the heater for aprox 4 min, they did not even take out one tool. (ohm meter to see if thermostat was defective)They came back upstairs and informed me the heater was maintained incorrectly, it was inaccessible, and there was corrosion on elements.
They said they would contact the warranty company and they would let me know if it was covered. I recieved a call within 20 min stating from warranty company they would not honour the claim, due to the improper maintanence and corrosion. Neither of which have anything to do with the defective thermostat. Based on the plumbers actions and the the keywords used to descibe what was wrong: (maintained incorrectly and corrosion. Quoted directly from policy exclusions) I believe they had no intention of honouring the claim. This policy cost $530.00 and is is a total RIP-OFF
