911 Emergency Phone Number Not helpful and I seemed to be bugging the operator Ripoff Phoenix Arizona
I have a friend who is having trouble with her husband, on sun. 9/26/04. I received a phone call from her cell and when I answered the call all I could hear was her screaming for her husband to leave her alone and to get away from her. This went on for atleast 3-5 min. then the call hung up. I called 911 and the operator said there was nothing he could do unless I had the address or home phone number.
I told him that it was a listed number because I just called information and they were able to find the number. I know that if they were able to find the number that they were able to find the address. The person took the number after three times telling me there was nothing that he could do. He said that they would check it out to see what they could find out.
I finally got through to her and she filled me in about how her husband was hitting her on her head and choking her with his hands and then throwing her on the bed and sitting on her neck. She then told me that no one came by or even called. The police can find out how someone was killed with a drop of blood now days but they can't look up a number and find out if someone is ok or not. When someone calls 911 I would like to think they would try to help more.

I KNOW, I KNOW, PICK ME!!! Your "friend" calls you to have you call the police. Hmmmm. She dials at least 7 numbers to get in touch with YOU instead of just 3 to call 911. She talks to you for 3-5 minutes during a beating instead of just letting the 911 call center trace the line back to her house. And her husband is beating her instead of hanging up the phone. Riiiiight. And your "friend" happens to be a female. Riiiiight. I smell something and it ain't my feet. I can pick this one out of the air and hit it dead on target. Your GIRLFRIEND got caught by her husband and she called her LOVER hoping he'd come to her rescue. Instead, you just sit there wondering how you can save yourself from the assbeating you rightly deserve. And of course, you have no idea where your "friend" lives or her phone number. Riiiiight. Not much of a "friend", not much of a man either. Try leaving married women alone you scumbag. I hope her husband gets you before he goes to jail for hitting a woman. He needs to go, but not until you get yours. I'll bet you have 911 on speed dial. You'll need it.
