I misspelled Monica's  and George's last names.  It should be Monica Marchetti and George Khanouf.

On 7/20/2012, I was shown an add on Craigslist for a complete remodel starting at $5995.  I called the number because I thought this was such a great deal and was told this special ends that weekend.  I met with David, Steve, Monica Marchetti/Govendar , and George Khan/Khanous/Khanouf or whatever their names are that night at my house for a preliminary meeting so they could show us material.

My wife and I met up with them the next day at their showroom and priced out the work and were excited because we thought it would save us time doing it ourselvs.  Monica and David sat down with us and assured us we would get upgraded cabinets with no extra charge, they said they would do extra work like relocating an A/C vent and extending a shower wall, they made us feel real comfortable, and told us that they could be contacted anytime.  We signed 3 contracts for 2 bathrooms and a kitchen totaling $19350.  We paid $11012.50 for deposits.

They promised to finish the demo work we started and they did, but contacting them after signing our contracts was difficult.  When work actually started near 9/25/12, it was slow because material wasn't coming and communication with the worker they sent was difficult.  David was supposed to be the project manager, but gave it to George, who did not show up to the site to "supervise" until 16 days after the scheduled start date.  My wife and I basically became the project managers and stopped by everyday to make sure things were moving along. After many heated arguments, the final straw was when the cabinets were delivered and we saw they gave us the cheaper cabinets instead of the upgraded ones we were assured we would get.

We decided we cannot work with them.  They will not work out a resolution unless we pay them more money for the crappy work that was done.  Luckily we canceled 2 checks written to them before they cashed it.  Unfortunately, the contract is so poorly written (it's literally written) and lacks detail that it is hard to argue over he said she said stuff, but we have proof that they did not do work listed in the contract.  The work was poor and the workers didn't know what they needed to do and the reasons for us to discontinue this business relationship are because of:

1.  Lack of communication and professionalism
After three contracts to remodel a kitchen, master bathroom, and guest bathroom were signed and deposit payments totaling $11012.50 were made on 7/21/2012, Contractor failed to communicate effectively with Homeowners in order to plan and make critical decisions for work to be performed. Repeated calls and text messages by the Homeowners to the Contractor must be made in order get a response from Contractor and the response does not adequately address all concerns.
Contact phone numbers provided to the Homeowners for project manager (713-513-0244 for David) goes unanswered or go straight to voicemail.
Contractors worker (Carlos), who was assigned to this job, arrived at the wrong address instead of the project site (3419 Norris Drive) on the scheduled job start date of 9/22/2012.
Change of project manager from David to George Khan was made on 10/1/2012; David stated he would provide Georges phone number by 10/1/2012 but did not give it until 10/3/2012. The phone number provided (281-940-5573) goes unanswered or go straight to voicemail for a Google subscriber.
Contractor (George Khan) arrived at the wrong address instead of the project site (3419 Norris Drive) for our initial meeting and final cabinet measurements.  His first inspection of job site was made on 10/9/2012, 16 days after project start date.
Contractor (David) stated tiles & cabinets would be supplied on 9/29/2012 but tiles for bathrooms were delivered on 10/5/2012 and kitchen cabinets were delivered on 10/16/2012.
Homeowners repeated inquiries about the delivery date of granite were never answered.
Contractor (David) had knowledge that demolition debris would be stored in the garage of Homeowners house and stated that all debris would be hauled off when renovation started. Contractor (George Khan) demanded payment to haul off trash, but was surprised to see the amount of debris generated from the demolition of the bathrooms stored at the site (in garage) and stated he was not aware it was waiting to be disposed of.

Poor workmanship
Tiles on the walls surrounding the tub in the guest bathroom were installed crooked and at different depths. Different colored grout was used for these tiles and not enough grout was used between sections of tile resulting in shallow grout and some spaces between tiles were not filled.
Tiles were installed unleveled, which created an uneven floor.  Several 12 x 12 travertine tiles installed in both bathroom floors were chipped. Missing grout between the tiles occurs in between some spaces.
Drywall installed in the kitchen had bulges in the tape and seam lines where it was floated. Drywall does not extend to the floor in sections of the kitchen wall.
Drywall in master shower does not have cut-outs for AC vents and one electrical outlet.
Contractor has no knowledge of how to build a shower pan up to code required by the City of Houston.
Contractor installed kitchen cabinets with defects (not matching stain color, scratches). Backing of base cabinet under sink was almost cut out entirely instead of individual cut-out holes for water supply lines, drains, and an electrical outlet.

Not maintaining job site
The shower drain, tub drain, and toilet drains were not covered during demolition causing debris to clog up the drains.
A brand new bathtub in the hall bathroom was not protected from scratches or dents while tiles were installed along the wall surrounding the bathtub, which allowed for mortar to fall into and dry on the tub surface and around the drain. Fine scratches on the surface of the brand new bath tub resulted after cleaning.
Hardwood floors in the hallway, front bedroom, and master bedroom were not protected and have been severely scratched while Contractor worked on property.
Doors & windows were left open or unlocked by the Contractors worker even after many reminders.
Contractor did not provide a method to haul off  construction debris. Contractors worker disposed construction debris into Homeowners residential trash and recycling bins.
All demolition debris was left inside Homeowners garage or in the backyard several weeks after actual project started.

Not delivering the correct material/product/service
Master shower was not extended 6 as specified in contract
Contractor (George Khan) instructed worker (Carlos) to install 3x6 travertine tiles instead of the tiles 795 series specified in the contract for the walls surrounding bath tub of  the hall bathroom.
Contractor (George Khan) agreed to payment of  $300 on 10/11/12 for immediate disposal of all construction trash including demolition debris in garage. However nothing was hauled off as of 10/16/2012. Therefore homeowner had to order stop payment for the check.
