AAIM Contracting, Matt Savigny, Stephanie Douglas Won't return deposit Waterdown ON Ontario
Like others, they took my deposit of $1300 (July) and did not communicate after that. I cancelled the job and asked for my deposit back and they said they didn't have it - had to finish a basement job first and then would be able to pay back. Job finished (this was now the start of September), assured me my money would be returned, then ceased communication. I have filed a complaint in small claims court and served him with papers. I doubt I'll get anything back though, as he doesn't own any property and works for himself. He has since deleted his Facebook page - both for his company and himself, and has changed his phone number as the old one is out of service.
I'm told that if there is a pattern (and reading the reports of others, there definitely seems to be), that we can contact police to have him investigated for fraud. If you have been scammed and are interested in contacting police with me, or if you would like to share information, please contact me. I have talked to his landlords and his lease is up in another month or so and I believe he will be leaving town. Last year he moved from Milton and I see he has bad reviews from there and had a different company name, so it seem to be what he does - rip people off as long as he can, then leave town.
