I, too, have been scammed by Aamco. Was told one price on the phone for the transmission to be fixed, but when I went to pick up my car, was told another amount. They deny the first price I was given, and refused to credit the difference. To top that off, when I went to have my oil change last week, I was told by the place that was going to do it, that they cannot touch my car. Reason being: when Aamco changed my oil, the same time the car was in for the transmission, they stripped the oil pan and it all needs to be replaced. Trying to get Aamco to pay for that is a mess. They want to look at it, and if they deem they done something wrong, they will "consider" fixing it. I told them they screwed up my car once, I'll be danged if they touch it and screw it up a second time. So I brought my car to a Certified Dealership to get a quote to fix what Aamco screwed up, and am currently fighting with Aamco to pay for it to be fixed. But they will fix it, because we plan on taking them to court for this issue. Do not be afraid to contact your local BBB in regards to Aamco, and definitely file that lawsuit. Let them know you mean justice. I wish you, and everyone else luck that has been screwed over by Aamco. I'm still striving for justice.

When you get prices like 2 and 3,000 dollars. Get on the phone with the car dealership and ask how much it would be for that tranny new out of the box you might find that your paying more to have your tranny rebuilt than it would cost for a new one.

Hi Erica! I too have been victimized by these people! I will be pursuing this legally. If you are interested in joing me and others let me know. Contact Charlie Crist the Fl Attorney Generals office and also the Fl. Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs. 1-800-he435-7352 or web: www.800helpfla.com and file a written complaint. Also please do contact our local ABC NEWS and speak with MONA at 813.354.2885 even though this happened in 2003 there may still be justice for you and others. Contacting her will also allow the media to see what a problem this company is causing and will alert others to avoid being taken. If and when you do call her, which I hope you do, let her know it is regarding the AAMCO in St. Petersburg Fl and that this is not the only store giving people grief but it is a statewide/ nationwide problem. Please remember that they have national exposure posibilities and we consumers can change things, the power is our hands! Any other tips you have reagrding this would be appreciated. Please post them. Best wishes!
