Aarons Rental Company ripoff difference between making some money and highway robbery we were slammed with hurricane Katrina and they show no mercy price gouging Long Beach Mississippi
Being survivors and having our whole house gone we figured we would start with essentials and go on with that. One of our first big purchases was one that what was needed due to me trying to finish school etc. so not having the money/credit we went to arrrons in long beach, mississippi and my fiance knowing nothing about laptops relied on them to help. well they told him this 4420us pc was the newest thing hp had made and really laid it on thick, he was so proud to be able to purchase it for me. Within the first week we had a worm, I have had computers since the commodore days and knock on wood never a worm or a virus of any sort, so i dont think it was brand new like they said (on the floor & just getting it in). My fiance planned on paying it off in the 90 days same as cash, these prices were hidden from me till appx the 3-4th week when i stumbled on them, weve already put in over 500$ and the next payment was due the following day.
I told him to cut our losses and give it back, it was the hardest thing ive ever had to do but when HP laughed at me saying they sold the same pc for 800 with a 50 dollar rebate i had a fit.
In 90 days we were expected to pay over 1700$ and if we went the entire year it was over 4000$ (FOR A 800$ LAPTOP WE WERE GOING TO PAY OVER $4000) ARE U KIDDING ME???????????/WE CALLED ARRONS CORPORATE OFFICE AND WERE PROMISED A PHONE CALL IMMEDIATELY, ITS BEEN 2 WEEKS AND IM STILL WAITING!
NOT ONLY WAS LONG BEACH AND THIS WHOLE COAST FLATTENED BY KATRINA (NOT NEWORLEANS, IT WAS THEIR LEVYS PEOPLE- AND THEY KNEW THAT WOULD HAPPEN IF A HURRICANE OVER A 2-3 CAME IN- BUT ALOT OF COAST RESIDENTS WHOSE CREDIT IS NOT PERFECT WERE GOING TO REFURBISH WITH AARONS, RENT-A-CENTER ETC, BUT NOT ANYMORE!!!
THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MAKING A PROFIT AND HIGHWAY ROBBERY AND SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE ABOUT THESE PEOPLE THAT ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE! ITS DISGUSTING AND THEY OUGHT TO BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES,
IM SURE THEY ARE DOING WORSE THINGS IN LOUISIANNA, BUT COME ONE, WEVE KEPT U IN BUSINESS ALL THIS TIME AND NOW THE PRICE GOUGING COMES INTO PLAY, YOU SHOULD BE ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH ROBBERY,AND FRAUD.THE ONLY PEOPLE MAKING OUT IN THIS ARE THE FAT CATS AND THEIR FAT WALLETS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE DOWN ON THEIR LUCK.

All these businesses rent or lease to own items for hugely inflated prices. This is nationwide, there is no price gouging here as a result of the disaster. I am not disparaging you, I empathize with your situation. NEVER, get anything from a rental/purcahse business unless you are prepared to pay exorbitant prices. Not only could you have purchased the PC from Dell, but for the purposes of schoolwork, online or otherwise, a second or third generation PC is usually quite adequate and would have only cost a few hundred dollars new and perhaps even less used. As for your "worm" problem - a worm is self-contained and does not need to be part of another program to propagate itself. A worm uses a network to send copies of itself to other systems and it does so without any intervention. In general, worms harm the network and consume bandwidth. The worm itself would not have damaged your computer although it may have utilized most of your bandwith.
