I am so unhappy with my new ACER now. I currently own 3 ACER's laptops of varying ages. The 1st, an Aspire One was bought in 2008 runs on XP & still works very well even though it is a slow now & the sound is corrupted so listening to anything on it is difficult. I was happy with ACER. The 2nd is an Aspire 6930 bought in 2009 & I have never has a single thing to wrong with it, have not even had to replace the battery.


 


I am using it today & it works like a dream. With the idea of replacing the Aspire One I purchased an Aspire 5. This has been a nightmare nothing but problems & I am fed up. Within weeks the hard drive crashed & had to be replaced. Needless to say I lost everything & was without my "traveling computer" for 2 weeks which Best Buy & Geek Squad had it. 3 months later it started crashing for no reason & loosing the ability to connect to the internet.


 


Again the Geek squad looked at it & fixed the connectivity but I still had issues with crashing. 2 weeks ago I uploaded all my new photos. My new grandson, a photo time line of construction on my house, the grandchildren at Christmas, my 50th birthday, stuff that is irreplaceable. As soon as I had uploaded the photos I cleared the memory on the camera.


 


I went to back up the photos on the external hard drive & my ACER just froze. Dead, not a thing. Went to Best Buy who have sent it to their Geek Squad again. Just got word from them that it has been repaired. It has not been repaired, they have put another new Hard drive in & are expecting me to just accept that as OK. Well I am not OK. I am so upset & cry when I think of the photos I have lost. Can't trust ACER anymore & Best Buy are no support either.
