Use Active Periodicals for a year in which I got two magainzes for 60 months and three magazines for twelve months. Paid a set rate that would cover the cost of all five magazines in twelve months. After the subscription they called and wanted to extend the contract. At first they acted like they were giving me the magazines for free and at no cost they could give me three more magazines.

Then later on in the conversation they brought up that I would have to pay a weekly service charge to cover the expense of having the magazines shipped. This weekly service charge came out to the same amount I had paid previously for the first twelve months. After doing the math I said no I'm not interested in any more magazines and to let the magazines expire for what I've already paid for.

Now six months later they called and asked if I'm still receiving my magazines. I let them know that I'm still receiving two magazines. The CS rep said that I was supposed to be receiving five magazines and that I haven't paid for six months. I told the CS rep that when I originally signed up my subscription was supposed to be paid in full within twelve months. He said thats not right and he will send out a contract and make sure I receive the other three magazines since I'm supposed to be getting them. He acted like he was helping me out and fixing a problem and even said he'd make sure I received the last six months of magazines. He said he'd send out my contract which states this to which I said yes I'd like to see that.

Then before disconnecting he said write down this account number of 800 number to contact us if you do not receive anything and that I'd be getting a call in the next couple minutes to verify. He also stated that the account number is different than my previous account number and that the information received will show extended. He stated that I should ignore that and that its not being extended and he is just correcting a problem.

A couple minutes later I got another call and the CS rep told me the phone call was being recorded. I said ok. She then preceded to tell me that this is to let me know that I will be receiving subscriptions for three magazines for the next forty eight months. I was getting the impression that this was an extended magazine subscription and not fixing my problem so I asked the CS rep if this was an extension to my previous order and she said yes. I told her I didn't want an extension to which she said ok and bye.

So obviously they were trying to trick me into extending the contract to which I called them on it. This is definetly a scam and no one should doing business with them.

Well a couple days later the original API rep that called me called back. I told him I didn't want to renew my contract. He said I wasn't and that I shouldn't of said no to the next call that was recorded because he was just trying to fix the original issue that wasn't true. He then asked if this is ok to go forward with it again. I said no but he is more than welcome to prove to me that my original contract stated I received 5 magazines for 5 years and that I was to makements of $39.90 for more than 12 months. He said he assures me it was and is that ok again. I said no just send me the proof. He said "have a nice day david" rudely and hung up. I wanted to give it a couple days with the $39.90 charge to see if it ever went through because it had only been in a pending state. It never went through. So obviously I was paid in full for the original contract and he was trying to trick me into an extended contract.

Not a half hour later they had charged my credit card for $39.90 even after stating on their recorded telephone conversation that I didn't want to extend. I am contacting my bank now to let them know I never want this company to be able to charge me again. I noticed the listing on the bank report shows Quebec, Canada US. I also noted that others stated they got the second call from a fake number in Oklahoma which I also received.
