Ignore that nonsense call. Kansas was right. They were trying to trick you into revealing your real credit card number. Just remember, there are a million different ways to get people to give out bank and credit card numbers. If you let them keep you on the phone, it's a good bet you'll end up cheated. Do what I do. Say: I don't have a credit card or a bank account. That makes them hang up quick!

It appears that this company was doing some "fishing" in order to get you to agree to the magazines and give your correct credit card number. Since you have their address, send them a letter (perhaps certified mail, return receipt requested) advising them of the phone call you received, that you did not and will not order magazines from them and that they are to remove you from their calling list. Make sure you cc copies to the Attorney General's offices in PA and in OK and a copy to your local District Attorney's office. Just in case they happen to decide they will try and bill you to collect. Good luck.
