Ok to start out I went to adelphia main office in my hometown Rutland, VT. Set up a business high speed account with them. They told me I had an outstanding balance of $9 and change for an account I had yrs ago.

In order to be activated I would have to bring this bal. to 0 so I did. Gave them that and told them that I had a modem from this previous hook up that there tech was suppose to pick up and never did.

So I take care of that by returning the modem and then proceed to give them $500. to pay up for the majority of the coming year for my new account.

Now currently I have suffered 16 hours of down time this month alone on a business account that I pay extra for so I contacted them to credit my account accordingly.

Instead they slam me with close to a $200 charge for the previous account that I had with them that I payed up the day I got this new account with them.

They clearly stated on this first day that I would have to pay up my previous bal. with them before I can get this new account activated.

Well it is 2 months later. I already payed up the previous account otherwise I would not have service as we speak. So now what do I do?

I would switch providers given that there is other high speed providers in my area but they refuse to refund my current credit amount of $408.67.

This ammount is not including any credits for downtime and also is not reflecting the $200 that they are charging me for the alleged money owed from the previous account.

Also they have told me sorry for the down time it is due to a hail storm in the area which caused the outage. Well I live in the area and not only were there no storms but the weather has been sunny and great.

If anyone has any idea what I should do please help me out. It would be greatly apreciated and as for if there may be a legal suit involved here.

All I want is my money back and anything over and above that I would freely give to any lawyer or legal counsel for aiding me in this matter.
