i have been a member of aff for two years. i am a female, and i am not a scam artist. there are real women on aff, but just like with any site that offers sex or love, there are going to be predators. i have a LOT of friends on aff, and from their experiences, i can tell you that most scams can be avoided by use of COMMON SENSE. 1- if the photo is a professional headshot, or staged photograph- this is probably not a real person. no one is going to go through the trouble of getting a headshot just to put it on a sex site unless they are advertising. real women have pics taken with cell phones and webcams. 2- if they can't write proper english, they are scam artists. if this person's profile is well written, or the locaton says they are from, say, iowa, then you get an email that says "so much to pleze you wuld talk. for look for a men to ply wiht nad to lyke to heve seks", this person is not american. they are not real. 3- if you recieve unsolicted emails from women at all- they are likely unreal. women can get by as free members because it is free to respond to someone who already emailed you first. in my two years, i have never, EVER, paid for a membership, because i don't approach men- i let them approach me. aff is like ladies night. and what woman is going to pay for a drink when she can get them for free? so, sadly enough, if you get unsolicited email from a woman you haven't winked at or messaged, she's probably a pro. 4- read the fine print. aff tells you in the disclaimer that the photos you see prior to joining the site may be models not associated with the username under them, or may be photos of people who are not even on the site anymore. 5- see if the person has any testimonials, kudos, or friends in their network. if they have none, they are probably scam artists. real people on the site tend to have friends in their network, and testimonials are good because they are written by other members, meaning someone has either talked extensively with this person, or met up with this peron. 6- don't give anyone any personal info. anyone who sends you a phone number or chat info before you've exchanged the 'required' two messages, is up to something. no one in their right mind would give you traceable information without so much as an introductory email from you. aff is no worse than any other site. unfortunately, men hear easy sex and lose all notion of common sense. it's too bad that there are predators on aff, but there are also real women like myself that use the site as it was intended.
