I called my local news station and let them know my story. Investigator Darcy Spears did a great report and I was interviewed about my horrible experience with Advanced Moving Systems. Hopefully, this will put their name out there and get people to NOT use this company anymore. Please check out the link below for the news story and video from Channel 3 Las Vegas.

Well, today I found out Advanced Moving Systems got fined $98,000 by the Federal Safety Motor Carrier Division. See for yourself at: http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/contactus/press/2002/072502.htm
They are also banned from doing interstate moves. Thanks to all who have filed online complaints that were instrumental in bringing this action about! Now if we can get our money back we've been ripped off, I will be happy. I for one plan to fly to FL and take them to small claims court if need be.
Another note, I received a response from AMS offering to pay $60 towards my damages of $95...and to sign a paper agreeing to $60 plus agreeing to cease all further claims against them. I DONT THINK SO! This company simply refuses to take responsiblity for anything it has done.

Today is April 8th, 2002 and I have yet to hear from Advanced Moving Sytems about my damaged items, or overcharges. I got my broken items fixed already, at my expense. I have all the receipts. Also have copies of 3 emails sent to the company on 3/14/02, 4/1/02, and 4/4/02. Still no response. This was the move from hell, and this company's actions show they only care about moving money out of peoples bank accounts.

As of today, March 8th, 2002 - I still have not heard from Advanced Moving Systems about my damaged/lost items.
I called them in Florida immediately after delivery - and spoke to Odelia who told me to send photos of my damaged items for the claim procesing. I sent the photos - and never heard anything.
After my things were delivered, I signed the pink drivers copy of the inventory noting my damaged items. Here is the list:
1) Shattered glass on custom framed art print - $45 loss
(that they expertly packaged and charged me for!)
2) Lost Bostons greatest hits CD - $16.99 loss
3) Drawer handle missing from large dresser - $2.99 loss
4) Drawers fell apart during transit of filing cabinet.
Drawers were in pieces, which they packed in a box with
all my files and delivered this way to me. Back of cabinet
has large scratch and hole. Cannot be fixed. - $29.99 loss
So, in addition to my rip off of $592 extra dollars for moving charges, padding, tape, and misc stuff, I am sitting here 2 months later with damaged items I have to replace.
Add on additional loss of $95.00.
I think Hell will freeze over before I get my damaged items replaced. Thats okay, my internet complaint has been forwarded to the FL Attorney General, economic crimes division. Advanced Moving Systems will now have to answer to them.
