Advantage mislead my wife and I and then have been playing delaying games and ignoring our communications to avoid resolution. Typical ploys of scam artists.

On July 7, 2000 we attended an Advantage presentation and joined what we then percieved as a super travel agency service. We had questions that were not addressed in the presentation and they told us they would all be answered at our "One on One" meeting that would be conducted in the next 7 to 10 days. It was infact held nearly a month later on August 2, 2000. The one on one meeting proved that we had not purchased what we believed we had. It is not a super travel agent. The one on one meeting was to sell Hawaiian Time shares of Puhio Co. They had not sent us a member ship card with the number to activate any services. We already have a good time share and need no more. When we were advised that the ability to provide cheap hotels, car rentals, cruises, train trips and to some degree air fair are an unwanted function. They are in business to provide cheap space in underbooked time shares. A product for which we have no need or desire.

We promptly went back (second day after the final presentation)to Advantages office in Tualatin,Or and advised we did not want the membership based on what the last meeting had revealed about their business. They took it under advisement and forwarded the request to their Corporate Headquarters in Lynnwood Washington. Since then we have been put off, denied and ignored. The staff would not respond for another month. They said we had three days after the presentation was made (July 2) and we claim the presentation was completed August 3 after the Puhio pitch. We were back to them two days after that pitch. I believe that was with in the three days rule (where ever that rule comes from) One time early on, we tried to use some of their services to improve the cost of a trip we had already booked from Portland OR to Santa Fe New Mexico and return. The accomodation (hotels, car rental, airfare) they offered us was more expensive than what we had already arraanged and to top that we tried to book a hotel room at the Portland airport through Advantage they told us there were no rooms available. So we booked one ourselves and at a discount too.

After the shabby treatment from Advantage - Lynnwood WA I wrote a registered letter to the President, Mr. Mike Vasser on September 6th. It must be corporate policy because he has never answered my letter or acknowledged it's reciept. I have signed reciept from the post office. A very shabby groupwith. I want no part of them and their underused timeshare rooms.
