Advantage Van Lines Never Showed- STOLE MY DEPOSIT! Hunts Point New York
I scheduled with Advantage Van lines to move from NC to VA because of their price and they told me they could meet my time frame. I had to move during the morning of 3/30 and delivery the day of 3/31. I confirmed this then reconfirmed two days prior to my move and was told they would arrive between 8-11am on the 30th. On the 30th their expected arrival time came and went and finally at 11:30 I called the company to ask where my movers were. I was told they would not be at my house till the following day. This was not an option for me (something I was extremely clear on when I booked and reconfirmed) Then I was told the earliest they could be at my house was late that night. Again, not an option as I had job and leasing obligations. When I told them this and requested my deposit back since they were unable to meet the time frame I required and I was going to have to figure something else out THEY REFUSED TO GIVE ME BACK MY DEPOSIT! When I asked to speak with someone who had the authority to give me my deposit back, once again the lady working customer service refused.
I have lost time, money, and am still trying to reorganize my job and lease obligations because of this company and on top of everything else they have stolen the deposit I made in good faith. I have moved 4-5 times in my life and have never had anything like this happen to me. In fact I have never had anything like this happen to me ever.
Advantage screwed up and told me "It doesn't matter whose fault it is- you can't have your deposit back." This is the most unprofessional dishonest company I have ever had dealings with in my life.
