I signed a contract with Freestate Martial Arts owned by Warren Prender and Roger Marshall at 8227 Cloverleaf Dr, Suite 309 Millersville, MD 21108.

410-729-0333. [email protected].

Then, the school was sold to Tony Ferrer, Sensei 410-729-5111. [email protected].

We originally signed up for Kung Fu and Tai Chi. Since the change of management, they have not complied with the contract. They switched from a Kung Fu school to a Karate school. The current programs taught are in Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate. As stated in my contract, we enrolled for 2 Kung Fu and 1 Tai Chi lessons. The contract states "...the school obligates itself to furnish me with competent instruction and suitable facilities for the lessons." They ceased to provide me "competent instruction" since the change of ownership. I shouldn't have to pay since they breached the contract.

Their finance company, Affiliated Acceptance Corporation (14443 North State Highway 5, Sunrise Beach, MO 65079) is still billing me since I "did not cancel at the appropriate time." Then, they said that they would grant an approval to cancel if I paid $160.00 within 30 days of their letter, for the month of April. But they have already breached the contract by then! Now, I'm still getting billed for May even though my "30 days" is not up. Now it's $285.00.

I do not owe them a dime! They owe me for my time and frustration!

I have been "working" with Joanna Bell at 573-374-9970 for months. She gave me the run-around and then told me to call her supervisors LeaAnne Brookhart x227 and Shyla F Rafizadeh x226.

I called Free State, and they hung up on me without answering the phone! They don't return calls either!

----

As an attempt to rectify these unwarranted debt collection, I wrote an email to the Director of Customer Service, LeaAnn Brookhart at [email protected] but I guess the email is wrong. The email bounced back. The carbon copies sent to others did not bounce back though:

File complaints with each company separately so that the business would be in favor of ceasing the billings when the finance company won't.

Got the Letter of Cancellation

I received the letter from LeaAnn Brookhart... "This letter is to verify that your acount with Affiliated Acceptance Corporation was removed from our service program... No past due or future payments are due to Affiliated Acceptance Corporation regarding this account." This all sounds good, but I've become so skeptical of them, I am preparing myself to see what they do next. I will be ready if they something fishy. Case closed for now.

Just as I suspected - LeaAnn Brookhart tried to dup me!

LeaAnn Brookhart sent me the email, PER YOUR REQUEST, to verify that she will cancel my account from their service. But she failed to include that I DO NOT owe $285.00. Heres the content of the letter: "This letter is to verify that the assignment of your agreement will be cancelled from our service program for payment processing after June 05, 2007 with no future payment due." I replied to the email and asked her to add that I DO NOT owe $285.00. She along with her associates are so predictable. All I got to say is I am a better Chess player.

Received call from Director of Customer Service, LeaAnn Brookhart. - False Hope or will she be a man of her words?

I received a call from LeaAnn Brookhart, stating that she will remove my account from their system. And that I do not owe them $285.00 now or any amount in the future. I asked for that information in writing. She stated she will send it via email and U.S. Postal mail. I will wait for those and document accordingly. So that if they try anything tricky, I have documentation of the cancellation and forward that information as needed. Until I receive the documents, I will assume that this is another tell the consumer what they want to hear and take on an alternate action. I hate to feel this way but they are not trustworthy enough for me to think otherwise. It should not have escalated to this level. I got this phone call from Ms. Brookhart because of the efforts I put forth. I had to file complaints with numerous organizations before they took the issue seriously. I spent countless hours researching their company. They owe me time, money, and frustration!
