AirTicketmasters ripoff Put through a "merchant check" using my account number and then later cashed my regular check so that I was charged twice. New York New York
In June of 2003, I purchased two tickets to Italy from Roger at Airticketmasters for a total of $1802.40. He asked for the routing numbers at the bottom of the check and then gave me his address so that I could mail the check to him.
It turns out that he put through a "merchant check" using my account number and then later cashed my regular check so that I was charged twice. He promised on several occasions to credit my checking account which has never happened. He also said he would mail my refund, but I've yet to receive it either.
A few weeks before my trip, I called the airline to confirm my flight and was told that I didn't have a ticket at all. The airline representative stated that a reservation had been placed, but NOT ticketed. Unfortunately, there was nothing they could do to help me.
After many phone calls to Roger, he finally purchased my e-tickets, but right up until the minute I boarded the plane I was fearful that he would cancel the tickets. Fortunately, I was able to board the plane and had a great trip in spite of Roger and his fraudulent activity. Do NOT use airticketmasters!!!
