DO NOT USE AIS DEPENDABLE MOVERS!!!

During contract negotiations, their salesperson Stephanie lied to us several times about the services that they provide. When we went to talk to Sandra McDaniel, the office manager and sister to the owner, on June 23, 2008, about some issues that arose from our June 13 move, she clearly stated that Stephanie had made promises the company could not keep with other (potential) clients in the past (thus, we were not the first victims) and that AIS would work with us to resolve any issues, a promise which she did not fully fulfill. She told us that Stephanie was no longer with AIS, and that they were going through a lawsuit (which may have been unrelated).

Sandra made statements to us about ways in which they would compensate us and later retracted a portion of those offers on July 29 (they did allow us to take some goods out of the warehouse and provided us with free storage for approx. 51 days). On June 23, she offered to apply a $319 deposit to the movers' pay rather than pocketing it for the office but refused to fulfill that promise when asked about it on July 29. Also during our July 29 conversation, Sandra called Stephanie, who was no longer with AIS at the time, to discuss issues that we were bringing up and then took Stephanie's word over ours even though she knows Stephanie had lied or made promises in the past which could not be fulfilled.

When confronted about a clear violation of our contract on Aug. 6, Sandra stated that the contract was void because we had had our items delivered to their storage first and then redelivered to our final destination (up to that point, she never made mention of the need to have a new contract written because of the change in delivery). Throughout this entire process, there were multiple times that we attempted to have messages delivered to a supervisor (such as Sandra), asked to have someone call us back with information, or received a promise from an AIS staff member that someone would get back to us, but they did not respond.

AIS had to come out twice to pick up our items, partly because Stephanie did not do her diligence in getting an accurate weight built into the contract. While this also fell in part on our shoulders, we made it clear to Stephanie at least twice that we probably had considerably more weight than the generic estimate upon which she was basing the contract. On July 29, when we wanted to talk about issues with the move, Sandra found it appropriate to talk about how they should have charged us for a whole second move (2,000 pound minimum) when picking up the remainder of our stuff. She cared mostly about defending how AIS is right or had gone above and beyond rather than trying to understand our point of view, compromising and coming to a mutually beneficial resolution.

If you think about using them, get every detail in writing. Be sure that you have an itemized list of everything in every box. Do not seal your boxes until the movers look at the items inside and ask them to sign off on a list that says everything in the box was in good condition. Our movers did not take down the detail that they should have when making the move - they did not even note everything that they took on the trailer. The AIS administrative staff and the movers rush through moves just trying to get them done, rather than trying to get them done right and trying to watch out for both themselves and their customers at the same time, which would seem to be the right way to do business.

This company's word is no good and they can not be trusted. AIS is unethical, their staff has no value for people or doing what is right from we can see. They are a young, immature, family-owned company whose word can not be trusted. PROTECT YOURSELF - do what is right for yourself and if they do not meet you where you need them to be in the contract, then WALK AWAY! AIS has shown us they did care about us or that they did not have much desire to do what was right for us. Their marketing as a family-owned business means nothing to us other than that they worked together to destroy our belief that a person's word - whether verbal or written - means something.

Want to Contact the Alleged Owner Reynaldo A. Rivera?

I too was told that the "owner" was out of the country in the military when I asked to speak to the owner. Then suddenly he mysteriously arrived home and sent me this email. "Mrs Taylor, We can reslove the matter at hand without taking this further, but you must call me at (cell) 808-777-7941 so that we can discuss the problem. Thank you. Reynaldo A. Rivera For those that want to reach him, here is his email address: Rivera, Reynaldo A CPT MIL USA ([email protected]). If he is in fact a captain in the military, the military will take the actions of him and his company VERY seriously. EVERY victim should contact the military to complain about him. The registered owner of this company is Dora Rivera. When I asked Reynaldo who owns the company he said he does but his sister runs it while he is in the service. They are registered as Dora Rivera DBA Rivera Movers aka AIS Dependable Movers. I have tape recorded conversations with Sandra, Stephanie, Reynaldo and their driver. I would be happy to join forces with anyone that is pursuing them in a private lawsuit or a complaint with a government agency.

I have some positives and some negatives with this company AIS. The Positive is my move is over. But, Their are some issues within this company. Everything the above person complaining about basically happened to me. I am fortunate enough to not had my stuff stored in this companies storage. The one thing that was told to me during my complaints process with this company, that I could not speak to the owner because he is "in the field" with the military. This being told to me by the owners sister Sandra. And from reading the rebuttals made by this company on other rip off reports, this poor brother is being used as a scape goat, for the incompetence of the sister(s). Me being ex-military, find it hard to believe that this guys own family (Family Owned & Operated) would let this guy down in such a manner, and use him being in the military for the gain of the company, or to get out of trouble with customers. I am truly curious as to whether this guy is in the military, and if so is he aware of what is going on with his company. And I can honestly say, if this guy is military, he is probably just that, in the field, and has no clue, as to how this company and family are discrediting his name and the name of the U.S. Military, with the actions of this or his his company. Unbelievable. As for the customer services, there is none. This Sandra, was very rude once she figured out she couldn't satisfy me with her lip service. And then all together disappeared, no longer reachable. Every time I would call a different person would try and assist me for the failure of this Sandra. And these other employees would have no clue as to who I am, and any conversations I had with Sandra. SO, I would have to over and over again state my complaints to a different person. I am just going to leave it here. I just want this it to be read by the brother in the military. Thank you for your service, if your are in fact in the service. Your company is being low and dirty. And to the next customer who is considering this company; there are some good things, but the lack of customer service given once you are a paying customer, truly is sorry. Do not trust this Sandra, she is full of it, not there to help the customer, or even listen to you. It is your choice consumer America. But with this company use caution!!!!!!!!

BE CAREFUL WHEN USING AIS DEPENDABLE MOVERS!!! During contract negotiations, their salesperson Stephanie lied to us several times about the services that they provided, or did not have a full understanding of her job and thus did not know how to respond to questions that were being asked. When we went to talk to Sandra, the office manager and sister to the owner, about some issues that arose from our move, she was accommodating and stated that Stephanie had made promises the company could not keep with other (potential) clients in the past and that AIS would work with us to resolve any issues, a promise which she did not fully fulfill. She told us that Stephanie was no longer with AIS, and that they were going through a lawsuit (which may have been unrelated). Sandra made statements to us about ways in which they would compensate us and later retracted a portion of those offers (they did allow us to take some goods out of the warehouse and provided us with free storage). She offered to apply a deposit to the movers' pay rather than pocketing it for the office. This would have reduced our overall bill, but about a month later, she refused to fulfill that commitment when asked about it. Sandra also called Stephanie, who was no longer with AIS at the time, to discuss issues that we were bringing up and then took Stephanie's word as accurate even though she acknowledged previously that Stephanie had lied or made promises in the past which could not be fulfilled. When asked about a violation of our contract during redelivery, Sandra stated that the contract was void because we had had our items delivered to their storage first and then redelivered to our final destination (up to that point, she never made mention of the need to have a new contract written because of the change in delivery). While this fell in part on our shoulders as well, we made it clear to Stephanie at least twice that we probably had considerably more weight than the generic estimate upon which she was basing the contract. When we wanted to talk about issues with the move in the week prior to redelivery, Sandra pointed out how they should have charged us for a whole second move (2,000 pound minimum) when picking up the remainder of our stuff. She seemed to care mostly about defending how AIS is right or had gone above and beyond rather than trying to understand our point of view, compromising and coming to a mutually beneficial resolution. We understand that they may be in a difficult situation and are trying to be cautious in how they approach any kinds of issues; we have just wanted to find a mutually beneficial compromise and move on. If you think about using AIS, get every detail in writing. Be sure that you have an itemized list of everything in every box. Do not seal your boxes until the movers look at the items inside and ask them to sign off on a list that says everything in the box was in good condition. Our movers did not list in appropriate detail everything that they took on the trailer, details that would have been beneficial for them as much as for us. The AIS administrative staff and the movers seem to be overwhelmed. It would seem appropriate to get the move done right and try to watch out for both themselves and their customers at the same time, in order to maintain a professional image. This company has fallen short of being professional too many times for our tastes. This company's word has not proven trustworthy. AIS has not shown us that they want to try to do what is right, or that they truly value a customer. We are genuinely good-hearted people - we even provided lunch for their movers! We do not want to be in this position, but we feel forced to have our voice heard somewhere because it is not being heard by AIS. They are a young, family-owned company which is struggling to provide comprehensive customer service. PROTECT YOURSELF - do what is right for yourself and if they do not meet you where you need them to be in the contract, then WALK AWAY! AIS has shown us that did not have either the time or desire to do what was right for us. Our belief that a person's word means something has been damaged by our experience with AIS.
