D, You definitely hit the nail. That is what exactly happened to me and how I got sucked in the AIU realm. I now realize everything was a total lie up front. I was lied about the cost and now I owe AIU 9,000.00 out of my pocket which does not include a student loan balance on top of that. Did I get my degree? NO, I was administratively withdrawn with 4 classes to go. If those people think that I will return they can think again. I got the books I need to go on and teach myself, which you basically do anyway. As for as the money owed to them? I have no idea. I may need a lawyer for this one.

Dear D The reason for possible high turnover in Admissions at AIU is because of people like you! AIU is very upfront with everything they do and operate in Black and White. Every employee is told the same thing and every employee is told to work with integrity and always in the best interest of the student. Obviously you didnt listen to that part of the interview process or any of the meetings or read your employee handbook. Every Private University is for Profit, so is very eveident that you do not have a degree or you would know that. As for their employees not having degrees, many do and most attend AIU and accomplish their degrees at some point. It is an entry level job and to move up in the company you have to start at the bottom, with or without a degree. In closing I guess that I would have to say that you are the very good salesman to have gotten through the interview process, enrolled students, not operated with integrity and still choose to work there all because you feel you can't find a job that pays that good anywhere else. Lets see here, who is in the wrong here? AIU? I don't think so. I have worked there for over a year, have never been treated with anything but respect and have never once lied to a student. There are NO comissions paid there and the Conference held each year is just that, a working conference. Most companies and yes even Universities have confrences where the leaders in the company meet and brainstorm, analyze and work to improve their processes. That I believe is more than legal. And no, I do not believe that you will be attending the next one as I fear that you probably do not work there anymore. Yes, when it is found that an employee is not operating with integrity, they are let go. I hope that everyone reading reports for any company on this site realize that they are reading the writings of ex-employees who are probably X because of their own wrong doing and are looking to take others down with them so they won't feel alone. For every report on here with a negative view, there are 1,000's of happy employees and students. The ratio is much higher on the positive side than the negative. It is simply a matter of those who are angry (usually with themselves)are the ones with the time to write such stupid reports.

D- I applaud your honesty. You are right about everything. I am an ex-employee of that horrible place they called a corporation. Everything you said is on the ball. I worked there exactly 2 months, and just couldn't handle lying to the students anymore. I don't know how you stay there knowing the black cloud they are under for the horrible things they do to students and employees. Is rich still working there as a DOA? How could I have guessed? I am sorry you are so miserable. Get out while you can! Quit! Stop lying to individuals and know that the truth will set you free! I am now in HR and we do not accept this pathetic online degree when we source through resumes. We make sure we wein out the few people who went to AIU and CTU. It is sad that it has to come to this. When the bottom line hits and I have to hire somebody with or without a degree, I will hire somebody with it. But if it is from AIU or CTU I don't even continue with a second interview. It's not the people's fault either, that is the sad part. So all of you who question if HR looks at where the bachelors degree is from....YES we do look at it! And it does matter where you attended college! And it will cost you that job! Please go anywhere but online at AIU or CTU. Go to a state school that is much cheaper and will probably be more helpful. Be good to yourself! And D, go get another job. I would love to interview you right here in chicago! I bet you have learned a lot of what you would like to do now that you have worked at that joke of a company. Take care- keep us updated about yourself! This is so helpful to others who are searching for a school! Thanks for being honest! More people need to come forward!
