Alamo Bait and switch, overcharged! Kahalui, Hawaii
I reserved an economy car through Priceline and went to pick up the car at the Kahalui Maui airport. The person behind the counter said they could upgrade me to a SUV. I said fine but what is the daily rate -- and she said "I can get you the SUV for $25/day". I asked "$25/day total" and she said yes.
When I checked out I found that they not only cancelled my Priceline deal ($167/week) but charged me $64/day plus taxes. I would have never upgraded if she would have said "for an additional $25/day". She said "I can get you a SUV for $25/day". I will never rent from Alamo again. Total rip off!
