Anchorage,#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

I am the owner and manager
of Alaska Best RV Rentals and I wanted to provide a rebuttal about
this claim from Troy. I regret not knowing about this posting
earlier, but just heard about it last week from one of my customers.
I am not able to go into full detail as this matter is still pending
a final decision by the court, but I can let you know that Troys
insurance company and lawyer are not suing me for a submitting a
false insurance claim.
This individual did rent an
RV from me. On the day his rental started, at 11:00 a.m., we both
went through a walk-through inspection and found no damage inside
or out. He acknowledged and signed off on the vehicle before taking
it out. After 5 days, Troy returned the vehicle at a very
awkward time (he was supposed to return it at 11:00 AM, but instead
returned it a little after 3:00 AM), and I was not able to perform a
thorough inspection of the RV due to it being dark. I asked him if
there was any damage and he said, No.
Further, the RV was returned
with a quarter tank of fuel, but per our agreement it should have
been full. Troy insisted that the gas tank was full, but when
I pointed out the gauge and asked him to go to a gas station or pay
the $40 charge for not returning the RV with a full tank of gas, he
paid the $40 charge.
Later that morning at 8:00 AM, as I do with all my RVs that are returned after a rental, I started to wash the vehicle and noticed that the edge of the roof had a large scrape/rip. I then climbed onto the roof where I found several small holes and tears. It looked as though the RV had been driven too close to a tree or other type of shrubbery since there were leaves and twigs in and around some of the holes. I also found a piece of duct tape keeping the damage up, which leads me to think that Troy was trying to conceal the damage.
I would like your readers to know that I have resided in Alaska for over 40 years and have built a reputation as a fair and honest businessman. I established Alaska Best RV Rentals in 1999 as a side business while I worked for the State of Alaska in Survey Plotting. I have recently retired from my position and now dedicate my full time to running my RV Rental business. I take great pride in providing quality service at an affordable price. I enjoy working with my customers, who often travel to our beautiful state from others states and countries, and look forward to being able to provide this service for many years to come.
