All Seasons Travel And Resorts Ripoff If it's too good to be true it probably isn't true Atlanta Georgia
This morning (at approx 8.00AM in Australia) I received an international telephone call from All Seasons Travel & Resorts of Atlanta Georgia, asking me if I recalled clicking on a link on the internet a couple of weeks ago - it was something to do with "You have won a holiday in the Bahamas" and all you have to do is phone this number (in the USA) to receive your FREE holiday.
As I did recall this, I listened to what the chap had to say. He said I had won a cruise to the Bahamas. This would consist of:
For 2 Adults and 3 Children (or For 4 Adults Only - no Children) -
7 Days & 6 Nights in Orlando, Florida - all accommodation paid for at either the Radison or the Hilton.
PLUS
If one of the Adults had a current Driver's Licence we would also receive free a 7 Day Rental Car from Alamo Rental - with only having to pay for Gas. (In Australia we call it petrol).
AND WAIT THERE'S MORE !!!!
2 Days & 2 Nights on a Cruise with 1 Full Day in the Bahamas - this is when he directed me to their website www.aseasonstravel.com so that I could check out the 8 level cruise ship with a Monte Carlo type casino with all food and entertainment onboard included.
AND WAIT THERE'S EVEN MORE !!!!
then:
4 Days & 3 Nights in Ft Lauderdale at the Sheraton or another hotel of which I didn't catch the name - I sometimes find the American accent a little hard to understand, and I am sure they also find my Australia accent a little difficult too.
AND WAIT THERE'S EVEN MORE !!!! (EVEN BETTER THAN STEAK KNIVES) !!!
A BONUS HOLIDAY for 2 ADULTS only (guess I would have to send our children or friends home....smile)
The bonus holiday is for 5 Days and 4 Nights in Puerto Villarta, Mexico - in a Hacienda I think he said.
Now here's the cruncher. I would have to decide straight away - within the next hour. I would have till July 2006 to travel and I could also have one extension for 12 months till July 2007 if I requested the extension.
I was pretty sceptical by this stage and asked for his name and phone number so that I could discuss it with my husband. He quite willingly gave me his name - TONY SPELDMAN - and a direct line number - 001 770 352 0252. I asked what the cost would be, and he said it was just $898 USD and even did the conversion to Australia $'s for me ($1162.76AUD). He even offered to only charge half the cost at this stage with the balance to be paid before travelling. HOW IS THIS A FREE HOLIDAY ????
I found his manner very pleasant and quite convincing - but it sounded a little too good to be true. My husband and I are quite well travelled and have been to most countries in the world and have yet to come across "a bargain" like this one. At no time did I give him my Credit Card details, I said I would discuss with my husband and call him back - he said I would have to decide in the next hour (as it was 7pm their time and he was going home in an hour).
I received another phone call from him an hour later and I advised him that we had decided not to participate in their offer. He was very pleasant, and accepted my decision, did not try to pressurise me at all.
I do wonder though (after reading through these reports) how many people have been enticed into giving their Credit Card details and whether or not they have been "scammed".
I guess the old saying "IF IT SEEMS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, THEN IT PROBABLY ISN'T TRUE" might apply here. Or maybe I am just a sceptic and I have missed out on the bargain of a lifetime. Oh well, ce sera sera as they say in France (what will be will be).
Best of luck everyone who has posted here - hope you either have a fabulous holiday/s or are able to resolve any problems you may have with this company.
