I was hired by Allen Knauer of Indy Models LLC in August of 2013 through a referral from a fellow promotional model. I was scheduled to work Saturday, August 17, 2013 from 9:00am-2:30pm and Sunday, August 18th from 8:30am-4:30pm (with no break times allotted per my contract).

I worked for a company at the MotoGP. The client was pretty upset with me when I told them my scheduled times because they stated that this was not what they had asked for or paid for (apparently Indy Models requires payment upfront from the client). I had another promotional job both days following these shifts so there was nothing I could do about it. Allen checked in with me in the morning of each shift and then I never saw him again.

On September 6th the other promotional model I was hired with informed me that she had been paid for the event. I emailed Allen on September 6, 2013 to ask about my payment. I received no response. I emailed again on September 16, 2013 asking about payment again. Allen responded that same day (September 16, 2013) saying "The rest of the Moto GP checks should mail by Friday". Friday would have been September 20, 2013.

I emailed him again on October 3, 2013 saying that I was told my check would be mailed on September 20, 2013 and I had still not received my check. On October 12, 2013 Allen responded saying "These checks are a long way from being late. They will be out soon." On October 23, 2013 I emailed him saying "I am contacting you again to ask about the MotoGP checks. According to the contract I signed it states "Compensation will not be considered past-due until a minimum of 60 days have passed since the last date of work listed on the itinerary." It has been 73 days since I worked the last date of MotoGP listed on the itinerary, therefore it is now considered late. Please let me know when you have mailed the checks." I also attached the contract I signed as proof of what I was stating in the email. I never heard back from him.

I have called his office several times and called his cellphone several time all with unanswered calls. I have still not recieved payment and it is very frustrating because I worked hard and had to wear high heels all day (as the dresscode stated) and it was all for nothing because Allen won't pay me for the hours I put in.

IndyModels is the largest event staffing agency in the Midwest.  We work with over 150 contractors each month in Indiana and bordering states.

Most who work with us enjoy the experience and find it both fun and financially rewarding.  They accept a job, perform it as agreed, and get paid.  We have contractors who have been doing so for well over 10 years.

Very rarely, that doesn't happen.  Sometimes, a contractor doesn't perform as agreed and they either aren't paid or they receive a reduction in what they are paid.  When this happens, most realize they caused their own problem and move on.  A handful, less than 1% of those with whom we work, decide to post defaming and libelous information on the Internet about us.

Anyone can come here and post all the libelous information they want.  Sites like this do not verify anything....they just post anything and everything.  If you have worked in promotions or event staffing, you have likely encountered poor performers.  Those who either made you look bad or screwed up the promotion for the company.  They are the type who post this nonsense on sites like this.

We've begun working with a law firm to identify the people who post here and to take action against them in Civil Court.  The person who posted the defaming info here, to which we are replying, fits into 1 of 3 categories:

1. They have apologized for their conduct and may have been paid.

2. They have not tried to make up for their conduct but we have chosen not to litigate against them.

3. They have not tried to make up for their conduct and we are litigating against them.

Again, these are a small handful of the people who contract with us.  Most of our contractors are good people and we made a good choice booking them for our clients.  Postings by disgruntled contractors on a site like this aren't worth anything.  Do your own homework.  We are the Midwest's largest agency and, as such, an easy target. To learn more, visit our website at: indymodels.com and come to our next open call!

We have been made aware of defaming material you have posted on the Internet.  We intend to litigate against you. Please email us the name and contact info for your legal counsel no later than tomorrow.  After that, we will have you served at your home address.  This will be our last direct communication with you.
