Someone by the name of Jay Hadley, and his quiet partner came to my door asking to sell me a magazine subscription. They were claiming to be on some sort of race to see how can get the most subscriptions for a trip to Europe. They claimed to get points for each subscription.
I (stupidly) agreed to a Rolling Stone subscription. I was then charged $38 for 26 issues. They asked for cash because they would then get "triple the points." I asked how many they needed and Mr. "Hadley" said 30,000. This sounded absurd to me.
I was then asked to hang the tag from the receipt that said "Jaime and Jay Rock the NCA :-)" No clue what that means.
I gave them a check and sent them on their way. They both seemed kind of creepy to me, so I didn't want to cancel on them.
I went to the Rolling Stone website and saw that I could get 26 issues for $14. After, I tried googling their names and all that and nothing came up. I then found a bunch of reports on this site. I called my bank and canceled my check. I'd rather give my bank the money for canceling a check than these scammers.'
I also noticed there were typos all over the receipt.
DO NOT GIVE THEM ANYTHING. DO NOT BE STUPID LIKE ME!!!
