I called Always Ready Locksmith through their 1-888 number on the day I was my exterior door lock did not function. The person charged me $40 more than what I was told on the phone; he drilled and broke my Yale lock on the door. He did not have the necessary equipment to open the door and it took hour to finish the job. I later found out that drilling was not necessary to open the door.

A few days later my boyfriend called the company to complain about the service and get a new Yale cylinder on my door. On a day I was not home, they came and installed a cheap Chinese no name lock on my door saying Yale does not produce locks anymore. I do not know how a locksmith can say such a lame reason. I called back and explained that I wanted a high security Yale lock and asked them to replace the cylinder with a Yale one. I made another appointment for early morning at 9AM so that I can be present when they come to replace the lock.

After multiple follow ups, the locksmith showed up at 5PM and said that he does not have a Yale lock, he left my house saying he will look into his truck again to check if he has one and drove off without informing me. I called the office again and asked for a refund. The manager told me he has to charge me additional $60 to uninstall the cheap lock- they put in -that I did not ask for and they will not refund my money.

He said if I wanted a Yale lock I have to order weeks in advance and pay $200 for it. If they had told me this when I first called, I would be totally OK with it but not after ruining my existing lock, overcharging me and making me wait for 9 hours for an appointment.

Everyone in the office is very unprofessional and they hanged up the phone while I was talking. UNRELIABLE, EXTREMELY BAD SERVICE. Any other company will give better service.

Very Simple. All you have to do is report them to the NJ Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm and Locksmith Advisory Committee. They will take action against them if they are licensed or unlicensed. This company has been taking advantage of the general public all over. http://www.state.nj.us/lps/ca/complaint/firecom.pdf The above link is the form that can be filled out to report the company. http://www.state.nj.us/lps/ca/nonmedical/firealarm.htm This link is the main page for the NJ Licensing Board, you can search by the city, and name of the individual if you are looking to see whether they are licensed or not. I recommend that all people ask a company if they are licensed and check it out, otherwise they take a chance of getting taken advantage.
