AM Press Assoc. MAGS R US ripoff strikes in Salt Lake City Utah
the evening of september 16th i had comany over and this nice looking young man came up on my porch and started talking about earning points to further his education or start his own buisness. he told us all about living all over the world and country and claimed to be an army brat struggling to make something out of his life. i have a 3 year old and he played on that saying he wanted to create childrens animations. i asked him how he was earning his points and he invited himself in "to use my table" and showed me and my freind the magazine selection cards i selected 2 of them and asked him how much they would cost. he first quoted prices that would add up to $100.00 and i told him i couldnt afford that much for 2 magazines so he lowered the price using the student discount which added up to $57.90 so i geve him the $27.50 he didnt have a nickle, and he made his way back to the porch when it just so happened to be a maroon and silver van passing by that he hollered at and it stopped, he then jumped off the porch over the fence and ran to the van!
well the next morning was a sat. and i couldnt get it off my mind so i got on the internet and like you im sure i found all of the rip off reports on this company. i then called the police to let them know theese people are in town and i was told that they already knew and they had stopped them and ran a warrant check on them but since they have no warrants there is nothing they can do until we can prove that they have defrauded us. seh told me to report them to the bbb and write the company a letter telling them that i will send them the rest of the money when i see a magazine and if they dont comply with that to demand my payment returned. i dont know if it will help anyone but i have 2 phone numbers for this comany but the 1st one is an answering service and the second one is for personel only. 866-667-4346 and 877-736-4861. i figure ive lost the money but id like to be able to help in putting a stop to theese scam artists and compulsive liars! i have learned to get on the net before i give anyone a penny again so not all is lost.
