American Cash Awards - CCCI Inc - Gemini Subscriptions Inc - Coast To Coast Circulation Door To Door Deon from CCCI ripped me off for $57.00 for 24 issues of Maxim Golden Colorado
There is CURRENTLY a large group of young men in my area going door to door selling magazine subscriptions and they claim to be associated with The Girl Scouts and Kent State University.
They first knocked on my door on October 7th at around 8 pm and the young pushy salesman told jokes and spoke so fast I could not get a word in edgewise. He proceeded to tell me that he was in a contest with over 50 other people and he was trying to earn the most points so he could win a vacation. Then he asked to come inside my apartment to use my table and I figured that would not hurt since my husband was inside and maybe he could help read this guys attitude. Well they immediatly started talking College Football when the guy saw my husband wearing a Penn State hat, so my husband fell for his humorous charm as well.
Then he asked if either of us were teachers or business owners because he got bonus points for that. So I mentioned I just started my own soap business and he asked for a card. He also wrote "Biz owner" on my receipt and made me initial it.
Five minutes later we picked out Maxim magazine and my husband started to write the check without even knowing the cost yet, then he said $57.00 for 24 issues. Immediatly I thought something was wrong but felt trapped with this man in our home so I remembered that he said I can always cancel my order by Tuesday for a full refund by returning my receipt in the mail. He then tore off the perferated edge of my receipt and told me to tape it to my door so no one else would bother me......so I did. Two days later I took it off my door thinking I was fine.
The next morning I took the receipt to work and read the instructions on the back and it said I could fax it to cancel as well. I tried twice and it was busy, so I called the phone number and you could not even get a person on the phone nor could you leave a message. So I mailed the receipt. Now I feel like a complete idiot!!
Then tonight (October 10th) at 7:14 pm we got another knock on our door and it was a differnt young guy so right away I said someone was here the other night and he replied "who, there are over 50 of us around here right now" I said "Deon" then he tried telling me that he was only two subscriptions away from winning and he wanted me to cancel the order I already had and order from him!!! I slammed the door in his face.
As soon as I walked away from the door I sat down at the computer and looked up the name I made the check out to: CCCI. I found other people who posted stories very similar to mine.
As I said, this is going on RIGHT NOW and I am ready to set up my video camera and invite the next one into my home to tape the whole act! I have already called my bank and stopped the check but it is still going to clear because in other cases they have altered the number written on the checks and committed fraud! My bank assured me that there was no reason to change my checking account and said as long as they did not steal my checkbook I am fine. We shall see.

The same thing happend to me last April, I am still calling them and emailing them on there site, they are still telling me that I will get my mag, and now they are sending me a new one for all the trouble they put me through, I told the lady I was talking to I was afraid to get the free mag, that the company would bill me for it, she assured me they wouldn't, like I would believe that, your take your word for it. We will see she said it would be here in 4 weeks. Lets see if I get the other mag, that I paid for last April 2008.So I would just keep calling and emailing them, maybe if you bother them enough, I call at least once a week. But I did call my Att. Generals office, and my Town Hall they didn't have a permit to sell in my neighbor hood last April so when I see them again walking around I will be calling the police.
