American Credit Corp in the mail credit card scam. They got my money, it's not a real credit card.
I received a card in the mail from American Credit Corp.; 196 Alps Rd. Suite 2-258; Athens, Ga. congratulating me that my credit was approved with a credit limit of 4,000+++ unsecured, 0% interest until the year 2002 the membership was with Phoenix Gold with a special bonus FREE! 3days and 2 nights in Fabulous Florida and a 7-night 2 for1 Carnival Cruise.
Credit privileges have been established for Pam Doss We are excited for you! You have been identified and confirmed to receive your very own credit card, regardless of your past credit history with a limit of 4,000 guarenteed.
Please call our toll Free number in the next 48 hours, and with activation, we will include a complimentary bonus. Don't delay take advantage today IMPORTANT CALL US _IMMEDIATELY at 1800.237.1221.Issued on 6/4/01, expires 6/04/03.
IN very small letters: Applicant must have a current checking or savings account and be at least 18 years of age. This special offer may be withdrawn at any time without notice. I called because my grand daughter was getting married July 28th and I wanted to do special things for her.
Now I keep calling the number that they gave me if I had any problems and it is always busy until the answering machine says that it is after business hours.
I let them take 229.95 out of my checking account that I really did not have to spare. I want everyone to know about this so they will not make the same mistake. This is the same thing I read about on your web page that happened to another man.
He later got a catalouge in the mail with very high priced junk in it and a so called card that was just that: a plastic card.

In the first place these people are looking for something for nothing, a good banking firm that issues credit cards to persons with good credit are not advertising such offers. Like the ad read a credit card would be issused, they did not state it would be a Visa, Mastercard, Amercian Express, and etc. My Best Advice Would Be Ask Your City Banker They Will Set You Stright !
