I wish I would have read on here first about American Freight I would have saved myself a lot of aggravation.

I went into their store for the first time on 02/09/2008, it was a Saturday at 11, they just opened at 10. I purchase a sofa, loveseat and 2 end tables. I didnt need the coffee table so I can a discount on the end tables, I thought ok this is cool. I paid my almost $900 and told it would be delivered that day and the driver would call me. So I said ok make sure you call my cell phone, I had running around to do. The salesman confirmed the number for the driver to call. I left the store at that time. Came home and moved my old furniture out to the curb and did my running around.

At 6:37p that night, I called due to no delivery. I was assured it would be delivered that night. I waited up til 1am and no delivery.

I called first thing Sunday morning well actually afternoon since they dont open til 12. I was told by Terry the manager that I would be the first delivery of the day. I called at 1 and was told that they driver was loading up the truck and I was the first on the list. I called 2:16 still no delivery, was told delivery would be today just no time.

I received a call from the driver at 2:34pm on 02/10 that he was loading my stuff and would be calling back in about 20 minutes. At 3:35 still NO delivery, by this time I am asking for free delivery and was told they could not have the driver delivery stuff for free because they are sub contracted drivers. Well I worked for 9 years in a home delivery business that I thought was completely worthless but American freight makes them look like they know what they are doing.

At 4:24p 2/10 I got a call we are on the way. I got delivery at 4:47pm. I go to set up the end tables and find there is a leg missing and no hardware to put them together. I call the store and am told they will give it to the driver and he will bring it back to me tonight. At 6pm the driver shows back up with the leg and hardware. I am in the middle of dinner with my family so I just put the stuff with the tables and the driver goes on.

I go to set up the tables and the leg he brought was for a coffee table not an end table and is about 3 inchese too short. Cant call tonight they are closed.

I call first thing in the morning and talk to the manager Terry and he said to come in after work and he would get me the right leg. I get there that day about 6pm and they still havent found the leg. I asked for them to give me a leg off the display model and he said that he couldnt do that. I left the store with 4 coffee table legs and Terry saying he was going to order the leg and it could take 2-3 weeks. I said fine when you get the leg in call me and I will bring back your 4 coffee table legs.

Well here I sit on 03/30 and still have no end table leg. I thought ok I want a bedroom outfit but this time I am going to pick it up no waiting for delivery should be easier right? HAHA NOT.

I go in on March 10th and buy a bedroom suit that I was told was in at the time but amazing when they got my money they didnt have it and it would have to be transferred in from another store and would be no later than Tues but that I would receive a call when it was in so I could pick it up. I was not paying for another delivery since it sucked the first time.

Monday comes and goes as well as half the day on Tues, so I called and was told the transfer was pushed back til Friday. So I call on Friday and amazing no furniture it will be in tomorrow I was promised. I called Saturday at 12pm and was told it was being transferred that day but that it hasnt come in yet and we will call you when it comes in. I said fine but this is crazy and even told that manager I would tell as many ppl as I can NOT TO SHOP there ever and hung up.

About 6:30 cause I had not heard anything I call and ask to speak with Terry the manager and he tells me that its next for delivery and I said I told you I wasnt having it delivered that I wasnt paying for it and he said OH MY BAD, I Thought you were having it delivered and I said Terry you knew I wasnt having it delivered and you were to call me when it came in so I could pick it up. Now there was no way for me to get a truck and get there in 25 minutes before they closed. I said so you are closed tomorrow for easter so you guys have my $451 for 9 days and I have no furniture. Terry says call me before you come on Monday and I will have it all ready for you to pick up. I said fine and hung up the phone. I was done at that point.

SO on Monday I call about 3 and ask to speak with Terry and was told that he was no longer with the company. I was like what well I can imagine he got fired for the way he ran his store. I was told that everything was in and it would be ready for pickup.

I get there about 6pm on 3/24 to pick up my furniture and its not ready and amazingly the night stand is MIA. So I pick up what they have there and was told by Brent(some kind of manager) that he was going to a couple of other stores in the next couple of days and he would try to find the night stand and my end table leg. I wait til Friday 03/28 to call and was told that he found the nightstand but no end table leg. The nightstand has a chip out of it and I said I dont care I just want my furniture but again they wait til almost closing to call me so I am going to get my nightstand today and we will see what happens with the end table leg.

My advice to anyone thinking of using American Freight DO NOT buy unless they have EVERYTHING there and you can take it with you at that time. DO NOT let them delivery or order it, if they say they have to order it in WALK OUT and go elsewhere.

I am responding to the rebuttal from Brent on my complaint against one of his stores. I was not upset if my furniture had to be ordered. I was upset because not on just one occassion but many occassions I was lied too. My stuff was being transfered in from another store from out of state not being ordered from the manufactor. Amazing how though when it was ordered from the manufactor I had in a week or less. Why that couldnt have been done in Feb when I originally bought the stuff is beyond me. I will not ever go to that store again and I will tell anyone and everyone that wants to listen my story and how bad their customer service is. Thanks, Alinta1970

American Freight sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience that may have been caused during a visit our one of our locations. Unfortunately, product is not always readily available and must sometimes be ordered. We are constantly adjusting our on hand inventory to best accommodate our guests. We try to receive product as quickly as possible. American Freight can not control arrival dates of merchandise other than what is specified by the manufactures. Constant training is a regular practice in our daily routine, and is used to insure customer satisfaction. All record show as of 04/14/08 everything has been received by this customer. Please except our apologies as we promise to continue to strive for excellence.

Well I finally got my end table leg and am completely done with American Freight for good. Whats funny is they had to order a new set in to give me the leg and that set came so damaged the one side of the coffee table was broken off, so they have to file a claim anyways for damaged mdse. I am just happy to be done with them and will never buy anything from them again.

So I still do not have my end table leg. I called the store and asked for a Corporate number to call, I was given this number 419-544-1961, I called that number and who answers but Brent stating he had that number forwarded to his phone cause he was out in the field. I was told that if he didnt find my end table leg that they would just order a new one and take a leg off of that and then they would deal with getting the replacement. I think that should have been done 2 months ago but apparently the customer isnt right when it comes to Brent. I will NEVER NEVER use American Freight again!!!
