American Grant Information Center ripoff convincing grant funds, guaranteed $5000 up to $2500, $249 process fee and a check may be issued but bank info is necessary Denver Colorado
Never give out bank info over the phone.
These guys are convincing because they have your bank's routing # handy. This guy, "Neil Smith" (with a thick, hardly comprehensive accent)and, this was indeed a very similar pattern to the previous rip-off report. The repeating of 'right'... aggressive behavior over the telephone. No website, no phone number(besides the one on the caller ID) and a $249 dollar processing fee!!! I thought it was FREE Grant money!
They asked for my information and I made the mistake of giving my bank info the first time, But then they needed to "transfer" me to their "conformation center" (which by now red bells were going off in my head, and I was desperately seeking information on this website) and lucky for me to be paying attention I noticed all they did was put me on hold, push some buttons on the telephone, and another man (judging by the background sounds) in the same room picked up. Then, they needed to record my information and it was strange how they recorded me...It sounded like the cheapest automated recording system-it had to have been a cassette tape they were using. A female's voice would prompt the question, and the man would stop the "recording" to ask me to correct my answer.
When the "recording" prompted me for my bank information again, I was upset and started to argue with the man. I explained how none of this was professional and I refused to give out any more information. The man declared-very rudely how I should not be treating him this way, and he proceeded to tell me off. I then found the information on this website, and described (I was reading him the report) and threatened to sue. He was then very quick to terminate the call.
