I sent a propsal (dated 10/15/08) to American Home Mortgage Servicing, requesting they work with me on giving me a remodified loan rate. Instead of lowering my rate to an affordable rate, they sent me a letter stating that my mortgage would be increased one percent. I pay my mortgage every month and I keep the house in good condition. I agreed to a 5 percent interet rate 3 years ago when I purchased this house.

American Home Mortgage Servicing Inc. increased the rate to 8.625 percent last month. I put $250,000.00 as a down so that my mortgage payment would be less, but it does not seem to matter. I called several times in the past year with concerns and no one offers any assistance. As a matter of fact, when you call the customer service number, you get people in India who speak in an accent and do not help.

I asked one man, "what is your name?" and he stated, "Sean Wilson". This is what I wrote,: I purchased the house I am residing in on November 1, 2005. I am still living there and it is my primary residence. My monthly payment was originally $721.15 (5.375%). Beginning November 2007 the new payment was $1,123.56 until it was lowered to $1,022.94 (7.625%) on 05/09/08.

I am current in my payments and would like American Home Mortgage Servicing to consider readjusting my mortgage payments to a lower more affordable amount. I am disabled and would like to keep the property I am currently in. I implore you to consider my proposal and to consider working with me to obtain a lower monthly mortgage that is both affodable to me and reasonable to you.

American Home Mortgage Servicing Inc., did not do that. Instead they increased my payments. FYI American Home Mortgage filed for Bankruptcy in I believe June of 2007 and they will not work with there clients. I have found that they want to know how quickly they will get their money, but when it comes to requests by their clients, they ignore them. I hope this will help.
