American Home Shield - Horrendous Serice on Long Island, New York, Carroll Iowa
American Home Shield is not fulfilling their contractual agreements with their customers on Long Island, NY.
For the simplest of items, ceiling fan repairs, garage door openers, etc... American Home Shield goes out of their way to find incompetent contractors.
No follow through from AHS, or their contractors... many promises from customer service... "...Oh yes we'll turn over your concern to the manager of contractor contracts.."
He/She must be very busy since we haven't heard from anyone in two weeks.
Contractors sent have less intelligence then my TERRIERS. Seriously. Here's an example, after a service call was made to determine that my ceiling fan wasn't working, I called the contractor after not hearing a word for three days. The dialogue went as follows;
"....hello...." (No identity given - no business name used in greeting"
"... My name is _______I would like a status on my ceiling fan repair..."
"...oh... a problem with your ceiling fan...Is it turning?"
" No... it's not..." Don't you have a record of your repairman's visit to my home"...
"...yes.. He's not in right now... we'll call you back..."
Of course, nothing.... two additiona calls to AHS. Nothing.
Check for service call has been cashed and AHS has authorized repair, so they say.
AHS refuses to assign someone else to honor their contract. ....blah ...blah blah...
In Houston, TX - AHS worked well for me. In Long Island, NY - it is as big a ripoff as the multi-layer city/town local government. Figures!
DON'T SIGN UP WITH AHS. They are as crooked as Wall Street!
