When I signed up with WIU in 2002 I thought that a MBA would help me to get a job. I graduated in 2005 and since then I have not even been able to get a job interview. I owe $ 32,000 for my Student Loan, I thought I would be able to pay this back soon, that it was just an investment but it was wasted money.
WIU like many other "universities" are there to make a profit that is all. The degree from WIU is completely worthless and useless. Their financial adviser did not even suggest that I could try to apply for a grant, now it is too late.

I was enrolled in AIU and a semester before I was to receive my BBA, they called me into the Financial Aide office.
She said that my loans did not cover my tuition this semester and that they needed $1000.00 for me to continue on. I did not have $1000.00 at the time and so I had to withdraw.
Well, now I would like to enroll at another University, GSU, and was hoping that some of my credits could be transfered over. So I called AIU for my transcrpits and they said that my records are "on hold" and will not be released unless I pay them $2,900.00!!
Please help me. What exactly did your letter say? Who did you send it too??
Anyone have any legal advice?
Thanks in advance,
Greg

My enrollment counselor with WIU, cleared many things up so I could re-enroll with WIU. I sent a strongly worded letter to AIU saying that they had better clear my credit record, give me the credits earned and forward my transcripts without delay, or I would contact an attorney. One had answered my request for legal advice. AIU followed my instructions and my credit was cleared, transcripts sent without delay, and I am continuing my college quite pleased since leaving AIU. If you plan on attending another online institution, I found WIU and Axia(with University of Phoenix) exceptional. Best wishes but I do recommend a strong letter outlining yout demands and consequences if they do not comply as well as looking into these other schools for their added influence. Rona

The exact same situation happened to me with AIU. They locked me out of classes 4 weeks into my last class. I was told by one department that I still had time to take my CLEP exams, and then the other department locked me out. They added a bunch of classes to my schedule and said if I didn't pay I would be dropped. A couple of days later, I was dropped. Then they billed me for classes that were supposed to be covered by my financial aid. They sent back funds for classes I had already took, and said that I had to pay. I called the financial institution to ask if it was a requirement for them to send back the money, and it isn't. The financial institution also stated that the school can request whenever they want funds sent to them. AIU is up to no good, that's probably the reason they are on probation with their accreditation. Have you seeked any legal cousel regarding this situation? I am trying to figure out my options. Thanks

The very same day I reported my difficulties in attending an Online university, an enrollment counselor with Western International University called and CLEARED UP everything! I am now re-enrolled and look forward to finishing my degree. From what I can determine, WIU was apprised of my decision to switch universities, but it was AMERICAN INTERCONTINENTAL UNIVERSITY that never followed through with requests and paperwork that led to my withdrawl from college. In a matter of 2 days, this counselor explained what had happened, what I needed to do, and processed my re-enrollment. I am so encouraged by this response. I look forward to be a college graduate in a timely manner and am pleased with the excellent help at WIU-University of Phoenix. Thank you Brian!

Rona, I really do not like it when I learn students from any insitution do not get the help they need... I may be able to assist you with your situation. I am in the admissions office for Axia at WIU. I can direct you to the PROPER internal sites for WIU and EXTERNAL for your FA situation if you wish. My extension at Axia is 39561.
