Review of Calvary Chapel South Orlando:
My wife and I have never walked out of any Calvary Chapel in 24 years, but we walked out today of this Calvary Chapel South Orlando.
NO JOKE: They actually have a baby pen in the back of this small sanctuary where the baby was screaming the entire sermon. The father wasn’t even listening to the message. So there’s the big question: What were they doing there?
We couldn’t even absorb the message from the pastor as the baby’s crying, giggling, screaming, yelling distracted us non-stop. The pastor’s message on Proverbs 3 was wonderful, too. I again looked at the father and he’s actually playing with the baby – not even listening to the Word.
At first I thought there was no other space to put the baby, but this facility has many rooms and even a large spacious room where two teachers were having day care. We saw this as we were exiting the building. Why not put the baby pen there? Or outside in the shade? And again, what is this man and his baby doing in the small sanctuary disturbing the congregation when he’s not even listening to the message?
We drove 41 miles to come to this church and had to drive 41 miles back. Shame on whoever put the baby pen in the back of this small sanctuary – never seen anything like this at any church in 24 years – and we’ve gone to maybe over 100 churches as we travel a lot.
We couldn’t stand the baby ‘s screaming and left after 15 minutes of this torture. Never going back to this Calvary Chapel and it should be de-listed from the Calvary Chapel site – it’s that serious.
It’s the smallest Calvary Chapel we’ve ever been to, but that wouldn’t cause us to leave at all. In fact, we would have financially supported this church as we did another small Calvary Chapel that was in debt.
We leave the vengeance to the Lord (2 Thessalonians 1:6) for the incredibly inconsiderate, thoughtless, clueless, unkind, and dull behavior of this man in the back.
We have two children (now adults) but never in a million years would have allowed our baby to disrupt a sermon non-stop.
I give this church 0/10 and you’ve been warned unfortunately.
