America's Best Custom Shop Promised to deliver car in showroom condition, stole my money instead Miramar Florida
I met Terry or Red as he introduced himself in late October after responding to a craigslist ad about an Audi for sale. The Audi had been in an accident and needed some repairs. He was offering it at good price and said that when he finished it, it would be in showroom condition. His Facebook had good reviews, a few hundred likes and he seemed to be a legitimate business man. His shop was busy and he showed me pictures of previous work that looked good. I signed a contract with him to sell me the car, for him to do the repairs and gave him a deposit of $4000. Now over two months later he has not completed any work to the vehicle. Communication has been absolutely terrible. I am always calling, texting and leaving messages that do not get returned.
The excuses started when I asked to see the car after two weeks before I went on a trip, he told me the wrong part had been ordered and that the new one was on the way and everything would be back on track. When I returned from my trip I asked for an update and some pictures. He had been out of town as well and said he would give me an update when he went by the shop. Never happened. Now several weeks after the original completion time I receive a very cryptic text message about the car being at a different shop waiting to get painted, I ask to go see it, I can't because nobody is there to let me in. I decide to stop by the shop and there is the vehicle untouched and now holding cob webs. When I walked into the office he was very surprised to see me. I told him I have been very understanding of his non work related problems translating into my problems. He apologized and offered to give me my money back next week, I agreed and told him I would have no hard feelings if he refunded my money.
We set an appointment for Wednesday. Wednesday comes and he is out of town. New appointment for Friday the 18th of December. Drive all the way down to Miami and wait to hear from him all day, no answer, no money, more BS. Call again on Monday. He apologized for being in court all day and being unable to meet me. I demanded a set time next week to meet me, and something in writing saying how he would return my money., he agreed. It is now Monday the 28th of December, the day we were supposed to meet and he will not answer or return my phone calls. I was very understanding of all the issues that he allegedly had with repairing my car, a week ago I figured maybe he just got in over his head and tried to settle this with him directly. Now I feel he is a crook. I m forced to take legal action in an effort to recover my money. Buyer beware. This is not a professional business.
