You are dealing with third party debt collectors and/or debt buyers. You need to send the dispute of debt in writing, and send it certified mail, return reciept requested. State the fact you attempted to cancel, and they refused. CC this letter to the consumer affairs office of the Atty Gen office. File an FTC complaint online for the FDCPA violations. The threats. it is illegal for them to threaten lawsuits when they know it won't happen. Threats of wage garnishment are also illegal by a debt collector. You can now sue them in Federal Court for $1000 x 2 violations, plus costs. Good luck

My suggestion is to turn this whole thing over to the Attorney General's Office in Helena, MT Consumer Protection Services. They have done some work for me and they are very effective. The Attorney Generall is Mike McGrath. I would ask everyone to do this as I see a number of posts about this company. These companies give Montana a bad name and our AG doesn't tolerate this kind of behavior at all.
