I live in Palm Bay, Florida. I just got a divorce and

hired a moving company, America's Top Movers out of

Hollywood, Fl. (954-986-0308) to move my entire three

bedroom home full of my belongings to a two bedroom

condo in Temecula, Ca.

The original quote was 2500.00 to move. When they arrived I had added a bedroom set and a chair, love seat and frig and the estimate went up to 11,000.00 I cried and told them to unload the truck. I did not have that kind of money, so they went back and forth on the phone with their boss and we finally agreed after a few hours on 7,500.00.

The moving truck arrived Jun 12, 2007. I gave them

3950.00. The company said they would hold all of my

personal belongings in their storage warehouse in

Miami for free up to one month while I found an

apartment.

Two weeks later, On Sunday, July 1, 2007 the truck delivered my belonging but they forgot of my belongings.

The movers would not open the truck or even remove one

box until I signed that I had received all of my

belongings, and then they made me give them a

cashiers check in the amount of 3550.00, totaling

7500.00 before I could see my belongings. They stated

it was company policy.

I was shocked when they said ok we are finished.

They were getting in there truck to drive away. I

explained they only delivered of my items. They told

me to call the company. But the office was closed.

I called 911 and officer Rahn from the Sheriffs

department of the city of Temecula, came to help me.

He looked at the packing list and looked at what was

delivered and told the movers to give me back my

cashiers check. Officer Rahn told me to cross out my

name where I had signed and write that I did not

received all of my belonging. Then officer Rahn

explained that this was a huge problem most consumers

dont know about. Theft!

The small print on the front of the contract I sign

were they say they will cover lost or damage goods

really says on the back that they are not responsible

for lost or damage.

I say that if one box is missing that is a loss. When

they steal your whole life that is theft. Is this

really allowed in our country? Can people really say

they are a company, have a clean record with the BBB

and then not deliver your goods and not be held

responsible? This just does not seem fair.

I am a single mom. My son is devastated to say the

least. I have cried buckets and me and my son feel

scared and are in a state of shock that this can

happen in America.

I have lost all 68 boxes. This include ALL of my

kitchen items, and everything I own. They delivered my

side loader washer but not the matching side loader

dryer. My stainless steel stove but not the stainless

steel refrigerator, my posterpedic mattress but not

the box spring. I have no computer, which I just

bought in March. No 32 flat screen TV, no end

tables, no lamps, no bathroom items, including all of

your hygiene stuff, plus the shower curtain, trash

can, soap dish, ect., from both bathrooms, No kitchen

wear. I dont have a pot, no pan, no skillet, no

plate, fork, knife, bowl, cup, glass, no small

appliances like my juicer, blender, toaster, toaster

oven, mixer, crock pot, cookie sheets, cutting board,

spices, cleansers, kitchen decor, no portraits that

hung on the wall through out my home, no baby photo

albums of my self as a child, no baby items of my

sons, no school memorabilia, no china, no nick naks,

nothing. My VCR, DVD player, music CDs, books, school

year books, my mom and dads wedding album, my

grandmothers black and white photo albums from the

30s. All of my sons toys are gone, his legos, his

play station, all the games, his collection of cards,

all of our comforters, pillow, blankets, towels, wash

rags. I have lost everything that is in your house

that you have to pack in a box!

My son, Tarrant who is 11 yrs old and I are trying to

make the best of it by living from friend to friend

and family members. But this has taken its toll. We

want our lives back. We want to move into our home.

School is starting soon. I do not have the money to

replace all that we have lost. I cant afford to keep eating out and spending gas money moving from place to place.

This has been extremely stressful. We have tried very

hard to be patient and understanding. But enough is

enough. I want my house back. I just want to go home.

I am paying rent on a place I cant live in.

I have made several attempts to contact Melony with

Americas To Movers; she spoke with me on July 2, 2007

and said they made a mistake and that my belonging

would be on a truck the next day. That was two weeks

ago.

I have called back several times and cannot get them

to return my call, they hang up on me, they put me on

hold and never pick up, or they say she is not in. I

cannot get Melony to talk to me and let me know she

has my belongings.

I have contacted the BBB and Rosalyn Morales

[email protected]. She wrote: back stating she contacted

Americas To Movers and that they said they made a

mistake. That they forgot to deliver all of my

belonging and that it would be on a truck within the

week. This letter was written on July5, 2007.

I have written Rosalyn back several times to let her

know I still have heard nothing of where my belongings

are. She has not returned my call since July 5, 2007.

I contacted an attorney in Orlando. Kim George

(407-649-0080) has written a letter to this moving

company stating they need to return my 3950.00 deposit

and all of my items from my home or pay 38,000 to

replace everything that I lost.

The moving company has not yet complied and has not

made an attempt to respond to me.

On July 17th, I emailed the Mayor of Hollywood, Fl. Mayor Giulianti contacted the chief of police and Sergant Manny Marino called me on July 18th. Sergant went and spoke with Melanie from Americ's Top Movers and stated that my belongings are on a truck as of July 17th and would in fact arrive on July 25th.

I then was contacted by a girl from the moving company. she stated that Melanie was out sick and that my items were on a truck and would arrive on July 25th. the truck driver would in fact call me on July 24th to give me a time.

Today is July 24th. I could not get through to the company. My father Joe Hull called the moving company and requested to know the details of my move. a gentlmen stated that the items did not leave till July 23rd and that I would not recieve my belonging until sometime July 27th or 28th.

The Sergant Marino also contacted the moving company and got the same run around.

this is inexcuseable. I am requesting that this company be held accountable for fraud and emotional abuse. I consider this theift. I want my belongings.

I have paid them 3,950. they were to have this delivered four days after I called them. It has been a month since I have called.

I have a little boy to take care of. I have been living from place to place and eating out three times a day and living out of a suit case for a month.

I have paid rent on a place I cant use, I am paying for utilities I am not using.

I am spending a fortune in hotel, gas and food and cell phone charges trying to get some help.

I would like to take this moving company to court. They have lied to the BBB and to the Police and to me. I have put my life on hold sitting here like a sitting duck waiting for my belongings. How do I know my stuff has been shipped when they keep lying.

Please help me!!! I am a single mom on disability. I have cronic asthma and I am under such extreme stress that I need to see a doctor. All of my medication is on the truck. I packed enough for one month. I need help please!!!!!! This cant be legal to do to a Human Being. surely I have rights.

The truck arrived July 27th, with the same men who delivered last time. again. they asked for the check up front. My best friend was there when the truck arrived because I did not believe they would show up I went to see my dad. Cathy Mejorado, my best friend says that she did not give them the check because they did not deliver all the items on the packing list. I am short 15 boxes and what came off the truck was damaged. All of my 51 boxes were in Rubbermate heavy duty plastic containers, in stead of cardboard. Cathy states that the plastic containers were severly damages and crushed. the driver even agreed that my house hold items were not taken care of. I feel this company did this on purpose. Cathy states that the lids of the boxes were off and it looks at though they went through my belongings. All of my nice expensive portraits that I hung on the walls in each room are missing. How can you misplace art? How can you move someone and the boxes look as though an elephant landed on them. Where is my 32' flat screen TV?

I hold Melanie personally responsible and the company and something needs to be done about this.
