Complaint Review: Americredit Finance - Phoenix Arizona

Americredit has had my auto loan since I bought the car 22 months ago. I have made all but 3 payments on time-and each time I had to be late, I made sure I talked to them and arranged the payments. in fact, I have paid MORE than the amount owing on the other payments (by at least $50 a month)-

In the beginning, they called and were nice, then they started calling my references first (not calling me)-they told my references about the credit glitches, they even told one of them that they didn't have a valid contact number for me and I had talked to them that same morning. They will tell whomever, whatever they want. I have spoken with Eric Stotz, Lead Manager, he read me my comments back to me-BUT, he "paraphrased it"-so that it sounded like I was being a creep. And I wasn't at all-and when I called him on it, he admitted he was not really reading it word for word.

The topper came when I had made a payment on the 6th of November~on the 27th of November they came and took the car. I made a payment every month for the past 9 months, but they decided it was time to take the car? They claim that a manager looked over the files and decided that I wasn't keeping up my end of the bargain, so it was time to take the car.

When I called about it and asked why they did that, nothing I had from them even hinted that they were going to do that, they said they didn't have to write me a notice. And they said they didn't have to cal me either as I had a cease and desist notice on my account. I asked what that was and they said I had asked them not to call me. I told them that was crazy and they said that they couldn't even talk with me about it until I faxed in an authorization that allowed them to talk with me. After doing all this, Janice in their office confirmed that the notes actually said they couldn't call my references~and I had put that on their as they were passing on personal info and lies to people who knew me~my family and friends!

After paying all the fees, etc, I was called by Janice at 8:30 this morning-I confirmed all the details of the deal, she said she just had to type up the form, and have her manager sign it and call the repo company to get my car. I have called multiple times and no answer. THe repo company has called mutiple times. The last call I made I asked to speak with a manager (since I had been on a hold of 13 minutes andanother for over 8 minutes) and the manager, Michael, told me that "if I had only answered the phone all the times they tried to call me before they repo'd the car"-at which point I butted in and said I had not received any calls and let him know tha they called my cell which recorded all phone numbers incoming and outgoing~then he changed his tune and said that I was right, they didn't call. And he put me back through to voicemail...It's now 2pm-the repo company has heard nothing AND they are saying that it is too late, I can't get my car until TUESDAY! It's Friday now-I am so angry I could spit! I need my car-AND it's costing me $25 a day to have it sit there~we paid all the fees the very next morning~and we had to wait a day to get them to receive the Quick Collect and "do the paperwork"~AND I really am a nice person, but I can't abide liars and theives.

I am going to follow up with my attorney, but I want everyone in the world to know that this is the most painful thing I have ever been through. They are not treating their customers with any care at all and instead are giving out all the personal information to all my friends and family...and now the repo company is telling me they can't get me an appt to pick up my car until Tuesday! No kidding! They are AWFUL-stay away!
