First off, I have to say that I am very relieved that there are more people out there with a real problem with this company. I was told too by my local car dealership, that Americredit Financial was the only company that would finance my vehicle.

I do not have the greatest credit in the world, but I definitely don't have, even close, to the worst. So, I thought that was kind of strange. They told me that I would have a very high interest rate because I was fresh out of college and had all of my student loans to pay back. I was also told, by the dealership, that after 1 year of on time payments that I could refinance with the same company for a lesser interest rate. That of course, did not happen. So, I am continuing paying an outrageous interest rate, that I cannot refinance.

Then came the part where the dealership actually fudged my paperwork after I left with the car, and made the car out to be more expensive than they had offered me. When I found this out, I called the dealership and Americredit, which neither of them would take any kind of responsiblity or action for, and so now I am paying more for the car than I had originally bargained for.

Then comes the highlight of it all. I became ill about 6 months ago, and have had some very extensive medical bills. I have explained this to Americredit, and so I am 3 months behind on my car payment, a total of about $795.00, and they call my home at least 4-5 times every single day, and leave extremely rude messages on the answering machine. It's rude, it's harassing, and it makes me feel even worse that I know that I owe them this money, but I will get it paid over the next month and then they can leave me alone.

I understand the money is owed, but there have to be priorities in life and my life being sustained is what I needed to pay for first, before paying my car payment. I am horrified that if they are doing this to me, I can only fathom how they are treating other people.

Same story, different names. I cant make the payments so the bank wants my car back. I know people have hard times but folks, we cant blame the people we owe for wanting their money. 3 months behind, yes, I would come get the car also. People dont understand that even banks and lenders have bills to pay also. And if they cant collect whats owed to them, then how can they pay their bills. I just payed off a loan with americredit, yes they call when your late, and they call mutiple times a day if you do not answer the phone or return their calls. yes they charge for deferments, however, i must say, even when i got a few months behind, they would work with me. Now saying that, you cant make a deferment one month then be late for the next payment due. deferments cost, but they also give us a chance to get our finacials in order, a little bit anyway. No they may not be the greatest lender out there, but they do deserve a little more credit than what they get on here. I mean, they helped us obtain a vehicle when we needed it, all they expect is to be paid back. on time.

My report is a little down from yours. So sorry for all the trouble your having and fresh from college. We are in our early fifties and we still going through troubles. First of all if they sue you make sure you go to court and defend yourself. Let the judge know all your problems. Show any records you have. Because they will try to garnish your wages if they win. As we were garnished March 10,2006. We've had to cancell our medical insurance for a family of 5. I've researched that if any losses result due to the garnishment they can be liable. So if we suffer a medical catastrophe they will be getting alot of medical bills to pay. They can only garnish $150.00 for our family of 6 and husband sole provider. That's per month. If you claim bankruptcy you won't be able to erase your student loans. So prioritize them! You can get wage garnsihment for student loans. I think you have 10 years before you have to worry about them. If you don't have a lot of stuff and make under 70,000. per year you could claim bankruptcy and erase all debts and start over. That's what my two nieces did fresh out of college. Take care, Hilda
